Is this like the first family friendly thing Smith has done? As far as I can recall, he’s only ever done stuff aimed at adults with various F-bombs. It’s going to be weird watching a Smith project where people aren’t dropping the F-bombs left and right & smoking weed.

I'm SO in.

SO in. This has me all kinds of intrigued now.

I haven't paid much attention to this post the initial announcements and I saw the earlier teaser which was fine enough but did not goose me the way this trailer did.

This trailer makes me think this could equal or exceed the quality and entertainment value the 2000's series had

I LOVE an increased role for Teela and reckoning with aspects of the character like her being out of the loop in regards to Adam's secret as well as showing that yeah, as Captain of the palace guards that she'd be an impressive warrior. And long time fans always want more on the Sorceress and her's connection as mother and daughter so I hope that gets spotlight too.

I like the BIGNESS (not a word) of the character design. They have a weight on screen that mirrors the classic action figures. He-Man looks like a solid wall of muscle and the other characters also look impressive.

My gut tells me most of what we have seen comes from the early "get up to speed" episodes. I bet we have yet to see footage from the meat of the series.

If it's a quest to reforge the sword and there is not as much He-Man as some like I get being disappointed. But I think it makes for more dynamic and unpredictable individual episodes rather than being structured around the tropes of the Filmation show.

This just became must watch for me.

Hype levels have not decreased! Looks like we might be getting more Prince Adam than I was expecting, which is intriguing to me, and it's great to see more Teela.

If nothing else try and track down the episode of that series titled POWER OF GRAYSKULL. It's just a primer on how to do these things and the "parable" of King Grayskull trying to regain the sword of power is... its classic hero's journey stuff that makes for a better "lesson" than all of the 80's post show audience talks combined.

This is the way with this kind of franchise where the original show was a broad audience hit but was very, very, VERY anemic in regards to... Well everything.

The toys and the comics that came with them had atmospherics that captured the imagination but were again, very rudimentary in terms of plots and character.

The 2000's show made a more than game attempt to sew the desperate parts of this mythology together and I think it worked. A shame it didn't have more support on the corporate side but the word seems to be it's ability to move product was the biggest knife in its heart but, I don't know enough if that's 100% true but I thought it was a fun quality action adventure show with some great versions of the characters from the franchise.


With someone like Smith at the helm this seems to be on a similar track of paying honor and homage to the old show and toyline while adding some layers of depth and drama to the proceedings, and so far in at least one way I think it's surpassed the 2000's show already in that this is great character design and animation already apparent in the trailers and BTS stuff we've seen so far. And that's saying something. While not up to some of the other shows of it's time (Think AVATAR) the Cartoon Network MOTU was more than decent in how the characters looked and moved and the first season especially has some awesome fight sequences that were leagues ahead of the previous MOTU series. So here, this looks already like it's close to or at the level of something like Avatar/Korra in regards to the animation.


Fingers crossed it lives up to my hype and it's only five days away!!!
