Mystery/Thriller David Fincher's Mindhunter (Netflix)

Bill's subplot was arguably my favorite part this season, tbh. I thought that was crazy good.

Nancy's whole monologue about being relieved/grateful that Brian didn't come from her body just chilled me to the bone.

Same. I miss Holden but I really loved Bill's story.

As for Brian
I expect him to confess in s3 that he just didn't watch, it was his idea to arm the baby. The other grown kids may be scared of him, that's why they didn't tell their parents yet. Maybe that will be the reason Nancy will come back home.

I love the way they handled this season and I'm glad they kept some of its humour despite the theme of s2. In the book, there isn't any light moment, it's too bleak.

I also loved that this season Holden spent most of his time caring about the victims families, it made him more likeable.

This season was truly incredible man. I would say on par with the first honestly even if it was a bit weaker in some areas. The subplot with Wendy being the one that sticks out the most IMO since I also felt it didn't really go anywhere. Bill's subplot was pretty damn interesting though, and I can't wait to see where they go with it next season. Also, the casting for the killers in this show remains to be pitch perfect IMO. The Manson scene was epic, and I loved pretty much every bit of dialogue between him and Holt McCallany. I believe their exchanges alone is what made that scene work so well. Loved the stuff in Atlanta with Ford too.

Yeah, I enjoyed Holden a lot more this season. I think not having to watch his horrid romantic life this time around helped, lol.

Regarding your Brian spoilers, I agree there's a good chance we'll learn there was more to it next season, but I'm not quite sure what form that "more to it" will take.

Once again another excellent season. Bill is definitely my favorite character. And his whole story this season was great stuff. This show is wonderful in the way it does so much through the dialogue, never do we see the murders or anything happening.

We just see photos of the aftermath and hear the gruesome disturbing details. It’s incredibly well done. For someone like myself that has always loved and been into true crime, I appreciate what they’re doing here.

Bring on season 3. One of my favorite shows around right now.

“David is focused on directing his first Netflix film Mank and on producing the second season of Love, Death and Robots,” a Netflix rep said in a statement to TVLine. “He may revisit Mindhunter again in the future, but in the meantime felt it wasn’t fair to the actors to hold them from seeking other work while he was exploring new work of his own.”
This is one of the worst things I've ever read. So he's going to stop an entire series when the writers room and Carl Franklin or Andrew Dominik are right there? C'mon...

I don't buy it. That's from a Netflix rep, and it honestly sounds like it's the nicest-sounding excuse, rather than saying "we don't wanna wait for him" or "given how much he spends, the logistics aren't worth the hassle" or something like that.

It was expensive for sure and Netflix barely promoted the second season. An official cancellation would've sounded better and more understandable to me than a statement that reads like Fincher lost interest/moved on. Either way, this sucks... :csad:

It sounds like selfishness wrapped in naive or insincere generosity. Hundreds if not a thousand or more people are going to lose their jobs because one man lost interest in his job. Ffs, David Fincher isnt the only person capable of being an exec producer for this show.

I’m not the biggest Campea fan but I’m 100% with him here.

I just finished season two of this finally.

I am going to be next level furious if this doesn't get a season 3. They can't end season 2 the way they did and then call it quits. It's criminal.

I don't think it's happening. Unless they renegotiate after Mank or something but that depends if Fincher wants to even do it.

I doubt it comes back.

I love Hannibal but it is fairytale nonsense compared to this show. If Netflix renews Hannibal but not this, I'm not going to be very pleased.

One of the reasons why I still haven't seen season 2. It would be the equivalent of stopping Mad Men/The Wire after their second seasons and just leaving you on a cliffhanger. I will eventually no doubt, but goddamn it.

Honestly, while BTK is an ever-present cliffhanger on this show (and probably would've continued to be for quite some time), I feel like each season really feels complete on its own, so I'm at least grateful for that. I don't think S2 would leave you especially unsatisfied, @Black Narcissus . But yes, this is by far the best show Netflix has ever put out as far as I'm concerned, so I'll be very disappointed if we never get any more, which sadly seems pretty likely at this point.
