Be prepared to wait a while. It's huge and PSN downloads seem to err on the slow end, at least for me.
They won't abandon their style if Heavy Rain flops. They're working on a sequel to Omikron if I'm not mistaken.
I know they wouldn't abandon their style, but would the studio itself survive Heavy Rain being a flop? Sony's putting a lot of marketing and development money behind HR, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time one major commercial failure sank an entire studio.

I know it's a bit paranoid to think in such extremes, though. More likely than not, Teardrop and others are right: it'll sell at least enough to be moderately successful, much like Indigo Prophecy was. It'll definitely be a critical darling, if the reviews so far are any indication.

I downloaded the demo and its alright...but i dont think i would buy it...i would play it if one of my friends did and i`d ask them to borrow it

This game will get so much coverage on the news channels, I don't expect it not to be huge in sales. Itll wind up being a controversy.

But thats me, it might not.

I enjoyed the hell out of the demo and will get this game as soon as it comes out

Why do you think that?

Because of the sex scene(s?) the full nudity and whatnot. Its never been done this way in a game before.

MSNBC or CNN or someone(i forget, perhaps fox news) made a HUGE deal about Mass Effect 1, which is nothing compared to heavy rain haha. and you know all the junk grand theft auto always gets.

I mean it might, might not, but I do expect it to get some news coverage thats for sure.

I think the whole media vs. controversial games thing had kind of died down. GTAIV didn't really get that much coverage, and one of the expansions included full frontal male nudity.

PS3 exclusive Heavy Rain won't be out until February 23, but there could be an announcement regarding the game's controls in the very near future. "If you are talking about Motion Control, this is something we initially considered for Heavy Rain," Quantic Dream boss David Cage told website Dagbladet. "The very first version of the game design was based on motion control, but it was not feasible at the time. But all the controls of the final version of Heavy Rain is still based on motion."
The game currently uses PS3 DualShock SIXAXIS controls to do things like shake a carton of orange juice. But will the PS3 exclusive title make use of Sony's new motion controls?
"I have a lot of interest in Sony's motion device and there is a good chance that we announce something about it in the coming weeks," Cage added.
The new Sony motion control was scheduled for this spring, but has since be pushed back until later this year.

I hope they add support for Sony's motion control simply bc it seems like such an obvious thing and this seems like a title that would take full advantage of that. I couldnt think of a game where Id rather use a motion controller for until now. This is one game, where I think Id rather use the Sony motion controller for it rather than the Dualshock 3

I'm getting my review copy this week, the site just posted it to me. Looking forward to sinking my mits into it, I'd imagine I'll have a review by the end of the week.

Doesn't matter to me. I'm not interested in motion controls at all. I'm actually a bit disappointed that it even uses Sixaxis crap, which has never, ever added anything worthwhile to any game I've seen it in.

Just played the Demo. I gotta say this game looks like a Lot of fun. I'll probably pick it up when it comes out.

Try sixaxis in heavenly sword when you guide the flying arrows. Its very fun! The Sixaxis is very underrated. it depends how the game developers put it into action. People disliking the sixaxis is kind of like how kids hate anchovies. They dislike it cuz other people dislike it.

Its ******ed to me since the same companies that own the ****ing news channels also distribute and promote the games.

Review copy came through just now, about to start it.

Super excited!

Heh, gives you something fun to do during installation. ;)

Played the demo... this is an incredible game. I kept sitting there looking at the screen, thinking the cinematic was still going and I didn't realize that I had control of the character. That was fly. I still think the trailer gives away too much, but I think it's necessary to get people who aren't already into the game interested, by highlighting the heavy intrigue.

The six-axxis shaking is fine, and used very well (ie, when you character is actually shaking something) and I don't think there's a better control for shaking something than shaking your controller, honestly.

Played the demo last Friday and loved it. So many choices and possibilities. It was a very dynamic game.

I think this is Sony's way of showing Wii how to do it better.

I dont think the Wii has anything to do with this title. It has its origins going back to the PS2 with the Indigo Prophecy. The gameplay is very similar and the developers have had this idea for this specific type of genre for a long time. The Wii comparison can come later if and when they add the motion controller support but thats not the main priority as its fully functional as is with the DS3. The current motions that are in the game now are nothing revolutionary as other games on the PS3 already have similar motions as well

I guess I'm about half way. The best parts of this ghame are friggin' incredible. The worst are... odd.

Gotta take a break from it, this can be a pretty darn incredible game when it wants to be.

I still, personally don't like having to do up someone's tie in the middle of a conversation etc, but I can easily see past it with this over Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheight.

The most important scenes... they're electric, incredibly exciting. When the plot is flowing right, I'm as hooked as I was the first time I watched Se7en (which gets a cool nod in one scene).

They're are a lot of problems, I think, that knock it down quite a bit for me, but that's because the game is so much more focused on story than any other game that when it slips up, it sticks out twice as much.

But I can't wait to finish it, I'm really enjoying my time with it.
