David Fincher's Heavy Metal

Paramount Pictures will make an all-new animated film inspired by the sci-fi fantasy magazine "Heavy Metal," with director David Fincher spearheading the project.

Heavy Metal will be stamped by the erotic and violent storylines and images that remain the trademark of a magazine that debuted in the U.S. in 1977. The film will consist of eight or nine individual animated segments, each of which will be directed by a different director - for what is being conceived as an R-rated, adult-themed feature.

The magazine previously spawned a 1981 animated feature and 2000 sequel.

i'm nearly positive we have a thread at least a month or two old about this... but i'm way too drunk, and way too lazy to look it up.

either way, i'm looking forward to this... after se7en and (especially) fight club (my all time favorite movie), i can't wait to see what this guy does next.
