I have questions about Ethan and about the ending.

Why was Ethan passing out and ending up on the street where Shelby use to live? Are we to assume Shelby was drugging him?

In my ending, Shelby and Ethan died. How did it end for everyone else on there first play through? Just curious.

so roughly how long is the game? im at the part where [BLACKOUT]Shelby and Laura goes see his clock fixer friend[/BLACKOUT].

Shelby and Jayden died in mine.

About half way.

I just have a question. I am still toward the beginning of the game and am wondering if...

Killing the first suspect is a bad move? I reacted badly and thought he was pulling out another weapon and don't know if this was a bad choice or not.

I haven't been able to play but hopefully will tonight so I'm wondering if I should continue on or start over. lol.

If you don't like a decision you made, you don't have to start over. You can just start the chapter over instead.

You can earn the trophies that you missed that way as well. Start the chapter you want and choose to save your progress. Meet the requirements for the trophy and wait for the save icon to pop up in the right hand bottom corner. Exit to the main menu and choose a new chapter and you will get the trophy.

if you do it that way will the chapter just end or does the game continue like normal as a new scenario?

You can chose to save it and continue the game or you can just play the chapter over without saving and it won't affect your previous continuity. So you got two choices.

Norman Jayden's ending.

What was up with the little tanks? I guess the ARI "Old Man" was warning him about using the ARI too much and not the triptocaine.

HOLY SHEET! :wow:

This game was phenomenal! Such a brilliant story in my opinion. Yes, there were a few plot holes but I think it just needs some looking into. Maybe they can be explained somehow?

All I know is this game has taken the industry to a whole other level. I've never felt so emotionally attached to the characters I'm playing. I would yell obscenities at my T.V. when the characters were harmed. I also thought the mundane tasks we had to perform were a nice touch, it really fleshed out the characters.

The twist was also a kick ass touch. I didn't see it coming. I can't wait to play through this again.

The themes this game touched on were so powerful & horrific.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I just bought this game and walked into my apt to play, barely able to control my excitement. I open the door to see my gf watching freaking The Time Traveler's Wife! Dammit man!

That's what you get for living in sin. :hehe:

is the killer always the same person? [BLACKOUT]what if Shelby dies before the reveal[/BLACKOUT]?

Ive tried everything...my game is completely unplayable. Waiting for a patch now

[BLACKOUT]
It is always Shelby. I think the only time he can die is in the last level.

What if Heavy Rain, which is so often heralded by creator David Cage as "interactive fiction," was just a bit less interactive? Is the game's story and cast of vaguely-French-sounding characters strong enough to carry a feature-length film? We might just find out, some day -- internet super-sleuth superannuation recently uncovered copyright documents which reveal that New Line Productions optioned the rights to turn Heavy Rain into a movie on May 15, 2006 -- just a few days after "The Casting" trailer (NSFW) was revealed at E3.

This doesn't ensure the development of a Heavy Rain movie, of course; it only means if any film studio makes the film, it's going to be New Line Cinema. We think the rights are in good hands -- New Line did some great work on the film adaptations of those Lord of the Rings game

Thought this was interesting. Not only has it been optioned for a film, but has been for years now

I personally think it would make a great film. They already have the real life actors. :D

[BLACKOUT]Yeah, I was like "what the hell was that?" It just didn't make sense and thought it was poor writing. And even though I thought it was fun to play, the part with Madison and the crazy doctor felt out of place too. [/BLACKOUT] But regardless of that, the game is still awesome.

I just played that part and realized, he didn't cut anything out. It was actually a smart choice.

[BLACKOUT]If you notice, the camera focuses on Lauren Winters when she picks up the Ballerina box. All of her attention is focused on it. Then the clocks start chiming. This is why Lauren is unable to hear the events that take place in the back. Cage wrote the story so that our attention was focused on Lauren. Then when she looks back Shelby is there. However, if you look closely, you can tell something has changed with Shelby's demeanor.[/BLACKOUT]

Personally I have no problem with it, I actually thought it was quite intelligent if you ask me.

:( for some reason the black outs didnt work when I checked this thread on my phone and now the killer is spoiled for me :(

I got spoiled to inferno. :csad:

It was still a lot of fun. It allows you to see how they tried to throw you off the track and gives you a good perspective on the game. You miss out on the shock value of the big reveal, but the game still gives you a lot of emotional and gut wrenching scenarios. Some of them will stay with me for a very, very long time.

I think the best way to handle a HR movie (which I would be in favor of, for once) is to have it be a very personal film from the director. In other words, he shoots the movie he made with Heavy Rain on his first playthrough. It'd be an amazing way to get in touch with the gaming audience.

That, plus the obvious plot refinements that would desperately be needed, and we'd get a great movie.

Also...

It didn't happen in my game, but I can't stop watching Ethan killing the dealer. The way he takes that breath, looks away, and only sheepishly gets out the line "I'm a father too." is perhaps the most moving and memorable part of the game for me.

I just did another playthrough and [BLACKOUT]man was it depressing. Shaun died, Ethan killed himself, Madison started to go insane and was having delusions, Jayden died in his hotel room from ARI, and Shelby got away until Lauren finds him and shoots him. Such a bummer.[/BLACKOUT]

When I'm finished with Assassin's Creed (yes, the first one) and RE5 on Professional Mode, this will probably one of the first games I get...

my trophies have got corrupted.
