There's actually a Michael Turner variant cover I'd be willing to buy... but only because it's sole competitor is a Liefeld cover. :oldrazz:

From Newsarama
Celebrating the ten year anniversary of Heroes Reborn, Onslaught Reborn #1 will feature a 50/50 variant cover by superstar artist Michael Turner seen here for the first time. Ten years ago, the Marvel Universe was forever changed when its heroes selflessly sacrificed themselves to save the world from Onslaught.

However the vile beast, spawned from the most sinister thoughts of Charles Xavier and Magneto, is back! Jeph Loeb and Rob Liefeld reunite to bring back one of the greatest threats the Marvel Universe ever faced.

“It’s all so amazing,” says Loeb, “This great big giant really creepy powerful villain returns!”

Fans can expect a no-holds-barred battle spanning the Marvel Universe and the pocket universe created by Franklin Richards. Prepare yourself for Onslaught Reborn!

A significant portion of the proceeds from Onslaught Reborn #1-5 will be donated to The Sam Loeb College Scholarship Fund.

Notice the "willing to buy" bit up at the top there. Thankfully, I'll be spared from having to buy either because I wouldn't touch this piece of **** with a ten-foot pole.

I actually saw the article 3 or 4 hours ago and waited to see if someone else would mention it first, but then I got bored and I needed something to make fun of.

Bull f***ing s**t! No way in HELL would you ever support Turner. It would be like me saying, "You won't believe it, but I like Wolverine."

You're right, which is why I'm not buying the Onslaught Reborn crap at all. :)

Sorry, I didn't finish reading the first sentence, about the competition. I stopped dead in my tracks at, "A Turner varient I'd be willing to buy." It was like my sister saying, "Large bodies attract all other large bodies in the universe proportional to their distribution of mass, and inversly porportional to the distance between them." It was a double take.

You done stumped me. I actually like it when people do that. ^_^

I hate posts like that. Now I'm gonna wonder what was there for the rest of my life.

I asked who the kid was in the front but then I read the little thing and concluded it was Frank

LOL!:D That was precisely what I was thinking even while clicking the title.

You know, they should really credit the colorist for that cover in big bold letters that overshadow the other artists. Onslaught looks very good and I know it's solely because of the coloring. The other parts of the cover are meh-rrific.

Yeah, colorists really ought to get more credit these days. They do like 80% of the work on a lot of the crappier artists' pieces.

You know. I'm rather mixed on Turner. Most of his covers totally suck ass like his Black Panther, Superman/Batman, Civil War, etc. covers. But this one and the one to Civil War #1 are somewhat good.

His Scarlet Witch and Onslaught don't look that bad.

Doesn't mean I'm going to buy this piece of crap story line.

I'm not a huge fan of variant covers either, but I just put in at my comic book store the Turner Civil War #5 variant with the Punisher on it. It's the 1 in 17 cover. I'll just back and board it and maybe someday have it graded and put it on my shelf.

Yeah, it's good to be a crappy artist nowadays, you can get away with a lot if you have a great colorist.

I think his Scarlet Witch, Cap, and Thor was alright, and a few other things on that cover. Main problem I have is what's with Reed's emo jazz hands deal? Thing just take a dump and Reed is looking at it stretching not to step in it and losing his balance or something?

I only bought the 2 variant covers that had Thor on it, because they had Thor on it.

Its funny Corp, I had the same train of thought. Though its not really a variant, since its a 50/50 split.

no **** Heroes Reborn is 10 years already?!? i feel old :(

If the Scarlet Witch is back, are we going to find out that CW was really just a nightmare she had?

The sin of buying those Turner covers is expunged from your soul, in that case. Thor trumps all.

not even for the kids?

No. I don't even like kids. If I had my way, babies would be used as footballs.
