I have to come up with a topic for a Persuasive speech for speech class, and can't really think of any good topics in which i have to persuade the class of my point.

Any ideas?

Affirmative Action; I really enjoy that topic because it's so easy to argue both sides. In an English class I had during tenth grade, we had to write essays and give small speeches to support our arguments, and we had one person designated to one side of the argument and another person designated to argue the opposite viewpoint.

It was really fun.

- Natural Conservation
- Iraq War (may be overdone at this point)
- U.S. Foreign Policy
- Japanese Whaling Expeditions (in the name of science)

Just go the easy route and use the current election. There is plenty of information in it. Your audience will already be familiar with it to an extent as there is non-stop TV coverage. It is the easy way to go. Pick a candidate and persuade.

Not really my business, but what school do you go to? Because my class is working on Persasive Speeches pretty soon too, we just wrapped up most of our informative speeches.

OT though, I think Foreign Policy would be interesting. Here, a college student at Translyvania (sp) is in danger of being deported, even though he's been in college and what not. So many factors that can bend and shape the topic. I'd find that interesting personally.
