her first ouija board

This thread title seems vaguely suggestive.

its not what its made of, its whats on it

And what is this supposition based on?

Are we going to ignore the thousands of examples that can be found where supposed spells, incantations, enchantments, etc. are written down yet nothing out of the ordinary has happened as a result?

As of yet, no line of causation has been shown to exist between things of this nature and their intended consequences (in other words, they don't actually do anything). Therefore, to assume something supernatural WILL happen when using something like a Ouija board is to afford unearned reliability to the prospect.

Until something supernatural actually does happen under testable conditions (that is, conditions that allow no tampering or other tricks) there is no reason to believe anything will.

teh way i see it, why put it to chance?

well, if you were stuck in hell, wouldnt u want out? thats what the board can do

Hell must be an easy place to escape from if a board game could release you from it. If there was a hell, and demons wanted so desperately to get out of it, then they could have found an easier way to get out than some cardboard. If they have special powers, then why can't they just release themselves without the ouija? Also, God must not be that powerful if he created the universe, yet he can't keep demons in a place of eternal suffering and torment from escaping due to a damn board game. That sounds like some Death Star type stuff.

Everything in life is chance. There's a chance that one could die in a traffic accident, yet we still drive. There's a chance that one could die a plane crash or have their flight hijacked, yet we still fly.

However, with the ouija board, there's only superstition.

hahhaa, this reminds me of that scene from "The Wolf Man" where they have the guy in a straight jacket while the doctor/skeptic exclaims to all his peers that he won't turn into a wolf when he sees the full moon.

I still find it funny that people refute Ouija boards but I bet they would never go out and see if it works alone with a camera.

I don't know if they work, won't say they do or don't. I would rather not find out if they happen to work so I will leave that alone.

There are other things to do where one has proof that it happened: sex, *********ion, eating a meal, beating a video game, reading a book, driving, hiking, biking, sailing, etc...

Why would they want to write science books when they could be having sex, eating, playing video games, sailing, biking, and other forms of general debauchery?

Actually I think science is very costly. So it would be building bills rather than paying for them.

Quija Board : Scares teenagers at parties , urban legends

Science : Nukes , going to the moon , the internal combustion engine , etc.

Survey says : Science ftw

I'll add that there is no way I could ever take a pink Ouija board seriously. Most of those "board game" type Ouija's are the pre-printed sticker type print slapped on a piece of cardboard. Nothing about that is scary. Now, if you get a more authentic carved board that is weathered and obviously looks like it's been around and used, that's different. Does it make me believe it'll open a gateway any more? No. But it certainly looks like something that "could" have that power.

This is ******ed. I can't be nice about this. This is Grade-A whack-job ********.

Besides, why does the guy say that Christians shouldn't use the game? Are their souls somehow more vulnerable to the attack than a Hindu, a Jew, a Muslim, or even an atheist? Demons were around before religion, weren't they?

The dude's probably a Christian and only wants to warn other Christians because he thinks everyone else is going to hell anyway.

You could have just shortened that to, "He's a *****ebag." But you're probably right.

Christians taste the best according to 'Cooking with Demon Emeril'.

I hear some of the djinns are nice.

I think we can all agree that Leprechaun's are *******s.
