Each member of the Fantastic Four member has a different personality. And it shows with each of the designs and what power they aquired. Stan Lee is a genius because he always looks at the way a person is and makes them a superhero based on emotion or personality types.
lets examine.
Torch- he is a young guy, thinks he's hot, thinks he's all that. Basically, the guy is a hot head and is always getting into dangerous situations. Like snowboarding..this is the reason he can fly. his dangerous jumping and living the dangerous lifestyle. when he was hit with the radiation that energy made him what he already was..a hot guy with dreams of flying high and jumping off planes. The fire came from his anger, and flaming personality with the ladies.
The Thing- this guy was a solid person, well rounded. he was strong and muscular, a big boned guy. His personality was like a "ROCK". he had to be strong to go out there into space and put his life in danger. he was a very strong willed person and when he was hit with the radiation that part of him inside, became his material his body. that's why he's the strongest of the four.
Invisible woman- She was one of those girls that you couldn't see past. she was always wearing glasses, cold personality and hard to know. she would put up a wall and ignore people as she went on with her life after breaking up with reed. she was basically, hard to see thru..she keep her emotions blocked and hidden inside. When she was hit with the radiation wave, all of that went away..she was freed..and all her emotions and secrets went away with it..her heart opened up and became invisible. she could also, create walls to block or contain..and that comes from her ability to close up or open up during certain relationships.
Mr. Fantastic. Reed, not a very flexible guy with his schedule you know? he was always busy, never had time to date, was always very stressed and stiff. his personality was that of a guy who couldn't let a woman in. he would block them and crouch up and work in his lab..never got out to stretch..so when he was hit, woah, he becomes totally felxible. he becomes loose and even get's to do some dancing..something he would never do before. his superpower allows him to become what he never was..flexible with people.
reading this, perhaps you got a better idea of why they got that superpower..kinda makes me wonder what superpower I'd get if I was hit by a radiation cloud.
