Hello, I'm currently working of a movie script for one of the most beloved video games in history. The Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time. Now I know some of you already have the predetermined thought that all video games movies will suck. But I honestly believe this has potential. As an fantastical animated movie with the updated technology we have for animation.I believe it could be a movie with a rich story full of fantasy, love, friendship, struggle, victory, and adventure as well as a little comedy. I also believe it could be visually stunning.

Sure it's your average cliche story. But I believe it can actually be made it into something epic. My motivation comes from listening to the beautiful music Konjo has scored for the game as well the Hyrule Symphony. And yes playing the game.

My target audience is yes a young audience. It could be up to par with LOTR but I'm not sure. Because I want to make something unique, full of action and adventure.

What I'm asking from you is any advice, suggestions, criticism, or anything that can get me on my way. I would appreciate it dearly. This is a very complex story full of various characters. Of course a lot of stuff will have to be cut and died down. I just hope I'm doing it right.

Thanks for your time in advance.

Ah yes, I didn't see that. So if any Moderator or Admin could do the honors of moving this I would fully appreciate it.

this is a movie or franchise i want made a movie trilogy it has so much potential

Yes, Exactly that is my intentions

- The Hero of Time - Link first learns of his destiny and travels in time to defeat an Evil King and save Hyrule as well as the world.

- The Majora's Mask - After Link defeated Ganondorf, he returns as a child for good, he decides to go on an adventure and travel beyond the land of Hyrule... but meets a powerful foe. The Skull Kid, who possess a powerful evil mask.

- The Twilight Princess - I haven't played this yet, but all I know is that Ganondorf does return and Link defeats him... FOR GOOD! :yay:

I think there is so much potential for a Zelda film and would love to see a trilogy made one day. I think there are 2 things that should be a definite - 1) Link should not be a child. He should be about 18/19 and when he emerges after retreiving the Master Sword, he would be about 25/26. (and just get one actor to portray this) and 2) Links first ride of Epona has to be as, if not more, epic than the game.

I like your idea to base a trilogy around the 3 modern games. If you trim some stuff from Ocarina and keep the basic premise then Ocarina can definitely be done in one film. Majoras Mask was a good game and the basic plot from that would be ok. I haven't played Twylight Princess and while I would be dubious about the Link as a Wolf feature I like the idea that Gannondorf would be absent from the 2nd film only to return for the third.

However, my idea for a trilogy was solely based from Ocarina.

The first film would obviously be the origin. I would be tempted to maybe do away with the 'kokiri stay young' thing and have the kids have parents and stuff but Link should look very different to them. I wouldn't do the whole Deku Tree/dungeon aspect. Kepp the idea that he has nightmares about 'a princess' and 'a dark force' but like the IGN April Fools trailer did, I'd have Link travel to 'Castletown Market' and accidentally stumble across the secret temple of time, where his Triforce of Courage mark shows up and it would turn out its always been his destiny. Link would be given the quest to collect the 3 stone keys, guarded by giant boss beasts, to open the temple of time so as to protect the triforce from Ganondorf and it would end with him pulling the Master Sword out of its plinth.

The 2nd film would be the grown up Link awakening several years later and finding Hyrule a different place. Gannondorf would have made the Kokiri people outlaws and destroyed their village. Link should be chased by his Gerudo guards too.

Do away with the the Old Man Sage who tells Link everything, Sheik should be the one to explain stuff to him. Instead of Link awakening each sage, Link would have to travel back in time and pick who he wants to become a sage and thus help him in the future. In the past he picks Saria, Ruto and Darunia. But once back in the future he discovers that Ganondorf has captured and imprisoned each sage in a different 'dungeon' guarded by a beast. Before Link can rescue his Sages, Gannondorf sends the Gerudo on a march of war. Think Helms Deep from The Two Towers. There would be a huge battle across Hyrule Field between the Gerudo and Link and a band of whoever he can find to fight. Second film is where Link finds Epona and 'tames' her with the song he learnt in the first film. Link would ride Epona in battle. Link is aided in battle when the Gorons and Zoras come out of hiding to help. Having defeated the Geudos, Link would set off with one Zora and one Goron to rescue the Sages.

The 3rd film would have Link and co. travelling to each imprisoned sage to free them. Huge dungeons, although obviously there would be no puzzles, instead they should be something like a giant castle or the battle in the Mines from the Fellowship of the Ring. Each 'dungeon', guarded by a giant creature. One Link has rescued each Sage, they set off to Ganondorfs castle to defeat him.
