Heroic Age

So Marvel just announced that they'll be doing what they're calling the "Heroic Age." Personally, I'm ecstatic. As much as I've enjoyed all the twists and turns that Bendis has riddled the Marvel U with, I'm ready to go back to the Marvel I've always known and loved (when there was only one team of Avengers). I checked out the promo pic (on marvel.com, I highly recommend checking it out). Just wanted to make some points that we can hopefully throw up for discussion:

1. Iron Man has awesome new armor, no? I feel that it pays homage to the original Iron Man, while still looking modern and new.
2. Hawkeye seems to have a mechanical arm. Now I don't recall Clint Barton ever having a mechanical arm, but I do recall Bucky Barnes having one. And if you think about it, there is a dispute over who will "wield the shield." Bucky Barnes = new Hawkeye? hm...
3. Beast is pictured a lot like old school "ape" version, not so much "cat" version. I loved old beast, so this excites me.
4. Finally, new team of Avengers? We do have the Marvel Big 3, Hawkeye, Beast, and Black Widow (all former classic Avengers), as well as Spider-man (who has been one of the New Avengers)

i dunno, just thought i'd see what you guys are thinking.

Looks good, but that's not a mechanical arm that's just some kind of metal sleeve..if you look at his hand holding the bow(zoom in on pic) you can the the flesh of his fingers, and if you click on the pic itself it brings up another bigger pic and below it, it has the names of the people in the pic and beside Cap's name it has Bucky Barnes and next to Hawkeye it has Clint Barton.

I dont think its a new team of Avengers because Beast and Thing are in there team costumes...Beast still has 'X's all over his costume and Thing still has the '4' on his belt. Then add that you have Beast and the Gorilla-guy on the same team...kind of redundant

ugh, for the millionth time, that's no mechanical arm and that's not Bucky in the costume.

if you look ar Hawkeye's classic costume you'll see he had a protective arm guard...thats all that it is

Thats definitely Bucky in the costume, Steve has a bigger physical build than that plus Steve has already said he doesnt wanna be Cap for the time being.

Man, I am excited to see what becomes of the this Heroic Age because Marvel has been dark long enough (eventhough I enjoyed some of the ride)

Also the Cap in the pic is not carrying a gun and Bucky always has his gun. I'm thinking it's Steve too. Also just from the way they are standing that Cap looks bulkier and he also looks the same height as Thor and I don't think Bucky is that tall.

I'm inclined to believe that's a miscoloration rather than Steve taking over Bucky's costume for some reason. I don't particularly like Bucky's costume and I definitely don't think it suits Steve.

Its Bucky guys. What would've been the point of Who Will Wield the Shield if Steve was just gona take it anyway despite the fact that he told Bucky to keep being Cap for the time being. Steve is planning bigger and better things.

I see pic and Cap has gun holster(sp)...That's Bucky for sure because I don't think Steve would have a gun. Also, this is the Heroic Age so I don't think Marvel would want to depict one of their icons a pistol wielding type of person, so maybe the gun is holstered or replaced with a different type of non lethal fire arm

Gorilla-Man IMO as much as I love everyone on that roster is probably the most kick-ass one of them.

You just don't **** with Ken Hale and get away with it.

Maybe he's one of the heroes from the Marvel Apes universe transported to the 616 universe?

Oh, never heard of him. I've been reading about him though. He does seem bad-ass. He'd make a cool Avenger.

Why put Beast on the Avengers in a suit with X's all over it. Why is Thing on the "team" with a 4 on his belt buckle. Why would you have Gorrilla man and Beast on the same team???

I could be wrong but I dont see that as the new Avengers line up

Maybe Xaiver wants Beast to wear to show the public that the X-Men & mutants aren't the bad guys?

Beast is better than Cyclops and Wolverine. That's why he'd get the nod.

Very true. Also, Cyclops shouldn't even be in the running. You don't have a team leader join another team. Presumably, he'd be busy running his own team, plus it's just... weird.

I think Magneto's about to usurp control away from him and Emma though. So...he'd be free.
