So, I was at the Foley Square set yesterday! Maybe some of you have already seen my stuff on the official website? (I'm spideymoviegirl there.) My friend, my sister, and I met Sam Raimi! He's a wonderful guy. Read more on bottom.
I hate image-hosting so I created a Shutterfly "Collection" account and put my pictures up there. Here's the slideshow:
Foley Square SM3 Set Pics!
(FYI: The captions on the bottom of the pics tend to change faster than the pic itself.)
A little account of what we saw at the shoot...
First, we saw them film Spidey's grand entrance, in which the numerous extras, band people, and police officers would look up into the sky to watch an imaginary Spider-Man swing onto the scene. Prior to that, Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) would announce "Let's hear it! For your one, your only... friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!!!" Band strikes up with really peppy music and a lot of cheering from the crowd ensues. They kept on doing this over and over until they were fully satisfied, and every once in a while Sam would step up to the mic and compliment the crowd. He's so nice ^_^. Meanwhile, on the other side of the park, they filmed another scene in which it seems Spider-Man will be saving a baby (awww).
After the lunch break, they filmed the segment in which someone (I think it's Sandman) attacks! And the crowd goes wild! Yeah. Every time "background" and "action!" was called, everyone would run, scream, panic and whatever. Very cool ^_^.
If anyone's interested to see some videos as well, I'll try putting some up.
Our encounter with Sam...
First off. I didn't even realize that he had stepped off the set to take pictures with those little cub scouts. Would you believe that I was actually trying to get a shot of the little group of cub scouts, before I noticed Sam standing right behind them? My gosh, I froze. Like ice. It was like, "Duude... that guy looks so familiar." After their group picture, I think he was headed over to the garbage can or something - I really don't know where - but it was at that moment we got soooo darn lucky. One of the crew members called him back saying they were ready for another take. Then someone stopped him for a picture. And then, of course, we stopped him for a picture. People, he is such a sweet man. He kept on saying thank you, and I don't know why! Oyy, he's wonderful. I will never forget his scent either. That man smelled goooooood.
I wish I was bold enough to tell him that I love him (or something to that effect). But I didn't want to keep him. He was so busy, working so hard!
Oh well . Mad love to the Raimi.
