i just had the idea, and the recast thing is cuz lamberts getting kinda old

There's one Highlander movie. The original. There's no television show and there's definitely no sequels to that original Highlander movie.

Didn't the original Have Connery if so then leave this movie alone.

Only one man should play the ReHighlander:

If there is going to be one... I would love for Tom Jane to star. But still, no remake.

I would love to see a straight up re-boot of the series with a whole new storyline and characters, but same old rules, The Kurgan, and of course Ramírez.

First off, I'm a huge Highlander fan. Got the Clan McLeod sword on my wall at home. There is no Highlander but the first film.

That said, as with most films from the 80's it is getting dated in appearance. I wouldn't mind seeing a remake. And Gerard Butler and Tom Jane are great casting ideas. But unfortunately, if Hollywood did this they'd probably screw it up more than they already have.

Duncan McLeod couldn't carry Connor McLeod's jock.

But this is what I love about Highlander The Series, it decided from the beginning "let's do this thing some people have been talking about, what's the word, oh yeah. . . CONTINUITY!!!" The fact that every subsequent Highlander film completely ignores the one that came before it has always been a pain in the ass for me.

Why not a prequel? The Adventures of Ramirez would be fun, starting with his life in Egypt, Spain, Japan, etc. They would have to recast him, as Connery is like 128 years old by now, but I could think of a few good choices.

Maybe they should maake a movie exploring the concept of the immortals being from another planet!

Kidding of course.

Im up for a reboot for one reason...the sequels destroyed not only the franchise, but the original concept as well. I think you take some more time without any movies, cartoons or novels and then put together an epic. You have to sort of Lord Of The Rings-it so that at the end of the first film there is still plenty of Immortals. When you get down to one, the story is over.

They're aliens... From the planet Zeist. I'm not joking.

There's the first movie, the show, and Endgame.

Nothing else.

No more flippin remakes, my god.

who needs a reboot of this?

I do. I mean, I like it, and if I allow my childhood memories of it to taint a viewing I might even say I love it.

But:

The swordplay is poor...
The Queen soundtrack is hilariously out of place...
Sean Connery plays an Egyptian with a Scottish accent and Christopher Lambert plays a Scotsman with a French accent...
The revelation of The Prize is disappointing at best...

It has a lot of heart and good ideas/intentions, but could be redone a hell of a lot better.

you can not skip over ramirez or the kurgan if your telling the story of connor, and jane is another good casting choice, how about robert redford for ramirez?, and there are a lot of good movie ideas that dont involve a reboot, oh yeah, i just changed the name to highlander thread. third dimension was good.

...I think you guys are late to the party. It's already in development -- and I think it already has a thread.

Personally, I feel this is a franchise that, on film at least, has great potential that has never been quite fully realized...I'm curious about what they might do. Plus, completely new people are involved, so most of the old 'hangups' from the original producers shouldn't factor in here...
