The show has shown that Claire could be killed if she takes damage to her brain. She didn't actually begin regenerating until the sharp stick was taken out of her head. So, if Sylar is removing peoples brains then, yeah, Claire could have been killed. Still, that's a moot point since the ambiguous nature of the painting fooled us into thinking it was Claire that was going to die when that wasn't true. It was another cheerleader all along.

She may not have been technically dead but the implication is that she couldn't regenerate her wounds with the stick in her brain. Damage to the brain equals no regeneration. So, if Sylar was to completely remove her brain what do you think would happen? That's right, death. So, she's not completely invulnerable.

do you know she couldn't regenerate her brain? this series is working a lot like a comic book and people's powers are starting to act like the X-Men's where they change whenever the storyline calls for it. Claire could turn into a Wolverine-like character and have nothing kill her.

No. I can't say positively how much damage Claire could take before she could no longer regenerate. However, I can say positively that if Claire could be blown to bits and still somehow regenerate then her character and the show is going to become very boring, very fast. There is nothing less interesting than a character that can't be killed NO MATTER WHAT. So, I'm going to go with the idea that Claire can regenerate up to a certain point, but if you scoop out her brain then all bets are off. Otherwise, you could never expect an audience to actually worry about the character.

I agree with you there Amphibatheater. I think at a certain point Claire won't be able to regenerate and that point is probably if her brain were taken out and devoured by Sylar. Also I think any sort of major dismemberment would have her out of the game as well.

Niki/Jessica used to exist separately and Jessica seemingly existed only in the mirror and she had the super strength. now Niki is starting to discover that she just might have powers.

the Haitian can cancel peoples powers out and erase memories, and he was mute. now he's talking to Claire who was memory swipped, but she can remember him....? and even talks to him....?

i dunno about that one. she stuck her hand down in the garbage drain and her finger managed to regenerate. from the knuckle onwards. if she mastered her powers enough a dismemberment wouldn't do much to her. hell, she closed her chest back up and was fine.

Well I think it's a good thing that Niki is discovering she has powers. Otherwise whats her point if she can't control Jessica. It would add nothing to the overall story. And the thing with the Haitian is that he chose not to talk because he clearly has his own agenda whatever that may be. As for Claire being able to remember maybe it has something to do with her regenerative abilities. Maybe she can regenerate the parts of her brain that were erased.

maybe, but i can't see this show lasting for a long time. as much as i love it it's really only a matter of time before the show gets a bit too much. and with all the new characters they're adding....it might not go over well.

Well, regarding Nikki/Jessica I'm figuring that since Jessica is actually a part of Nikki that it's not all that out there for Nikki to begin displaying the super strength of Jessica. One could say that Jessica is just a split personality utilizing a power that until now Nikki was unaware that she even had. So, not really a retcon, just aspects of the character that are slowly being revealed.

And the Haitian might not have talked but it was never stated he was a mute. And Claire wasn't memory wiped by the Hatian. For whatever reason the hatian didn't mindwipe her but did tell her to fake a mindwipe while around her father. Also when Claire was talking to Zach she said she didn't remember that night. Like I said before I think Claire's regenerative powers have something to do with her remembering.

The Haitian snuck up behind Claire and told her that it was important that she retain her memories despite the fact that her father has ordered him to mindwipe her. In the next episode we see Claire telling her Father that she can't remember anything about Homecoming but as she is walking off a look comes across her face that shows that she does remember and knows her father is up to something. We later see her talking to the Haitian. It's not directly stated but implied that she wasn't actually mindwiped but is just pretending because the Haitian told her to.



I don't think Jessica is the ghost of Nikki's sister so the implication is that it's a split personality. I would imagine it has something to do with their abusive father. Nikki conjuring up a split personality full of rage about what was done to her sister and therefore the new personality taking the name of her wronged sister. just a guess.

Ok. Just skimmed the part where she is talking to the Haitian over at NBC"s rewind and when he tells her she is not supposed to remember Peter Petrelli it's because Claire wants to go visit him. The haitian tells her Peter is being watched because he knows that if she goes to see Peter that it will tip her father off that she wasn't mindwiped so he is reminding her of the things that she is not supposed to remember. So, no mindwipe for Claire.
