Lennon and Garant Penning Museum Sequel
Source: Dark Horizons July 30, 2007

Balls of Fury writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon have confirmed to Dark Horizons that they are writing a sequel to their hit Fox film Night at the Museum.

The writers, who created "Reno 911!," said that "there'll be existing characters and plenty of new ones."

According to the site, Ben Stiller and Robin Williams are signed for the sequel.

Stiller's coming back? Jeez, somewhere, a b-list television supporting actor is going hungry.

robin williams hasnt made a half decent movie since death to smoochy. he needs to fade away, fast.

Why are they making a sequel to this?
Seriously, what happens next?

Dick Van Dyke breaks out of prison?
The T-Rex goes loose in the city?

I guess there just milking it like always. Got to make unnecesary sequels to films that did well at the BO. Looking at the number of past kid/family friendly movies I don't blame them for milking it. Is it just me or has their not really been any actually good animated characters lately. The exceptions would be Shrek and Toy Story I guess. I just don't see a lot of this garbage like, A Sharks Tale, Cars, Robots, that latest one with a mouse that can cook lasting the test of time like the disney greats of the past.

i liked the first one... it could have been better, but really, what movie couldn't have?

i'd watch a sequel.

The first banked over $570 million. Why is this a surprise to anyone here?

I thought they announced this back in January?

Night At The Museum was a suprisingly good, original, movie but there is absolutely no room for a sequel.

I thought the first was really cute, saw it a couple of months ago at Imax.
I wasn't going to but since it stayed at Imax for such great length I had to find out what was so great. I love the Stiller and Owens combo. I hope Owens comes back.

There are a lot of seniors out there that would support this, seeing as the cast was made up of living legends. I might check the sequel.

but seriously, where could the story possibly go from here? what'd be the ****ing point?

why doesn't fox spend the money wisely on a GOOD movie?

As much as i liked the first one i dont think there is any need in a sequel from a story telling point of view i mean they pretty much wrapped it all up.

Fox is greedy for a new franchise since they've screwed up most of their other ones.

i liked the first one. cant wait for the seconnd.

they ll probably be people on here in ten years saying natm was a classic anfd they should have made a sequel at which point there will be a remake in the works

I can only hope that Dick Van Dyke snaps and just slaughters Ben Stiller on set. Now that's a movie. I would love to see a movie consisting of Dick Van Dyke and Mickey Rooney kicking the crap out of Ben Stiller for 2 hours.

The first was actually surprisingly fun and entertaining but there is absouletley no way they could make a sequel unless it's pretty much a cheap rehash.
