Holy ****! The Simpsons is funny again!!!?

For whatever reason I decided to watch the simpsons tonight, the last time I watched a new episode was a while ago, back when for whatever reason they were copying Family Guy, it was just really bad. Now this episode wasn't no where near the quality of Simpsons in it's prime but it's glad to see they went back to there roots and satirized the middle class man, and have that whole wholesome moment at the end. It still pretty evident that this should of ended a while ago, however at least it's funny again. "THE PONTIFF RETURNS!"

I actually laughed at some parts in last night's episode. The part with Eleanor was funny. Who would've thunk it. The crazy cat lady was once a lawyer/doctor.

I saw lasts nights episode after not watching for about a year. Yeah, still not funny at all. Predictable, crappy and another rehash of jokes. They really should have stopped about 7-8 years ago.

they couldve done that about season 10 and it woulda been cool probs woulda prevented the boring hardly ever funny episodes we have now in which almost every1 seems to at least contain something wrong with homer and marges marriage, mebe a few years each, bart 15, lise 13, maggie 5 (6???) but i think its too late for that now

I don't know about that. There have been some pretty funny episodes since then and we have about 5 Simpsons threads roaming around the TV Forum.

The show is still good, but like with most shows that have gone on for many many years, it has its dips in consistency.

With it being such a high profile show, these dips in consistency creates "inflexibilities" among the casual Simpsons viewer and therefore they tend to overcriticize the show and pretty much give up on it.

The last few seasons have had some pretty underrated episodes if I must say so...

I thought the Halloween episode was disappointing. Other than that I haven't seen the other episodes. The show kind of got away from me but I enjoyed the movie.

There isn't another "Simpsons" thread? Anyway, tonight's episode wasn't at all original (another instance of showing the kids all grown up, complete with jokes about how goofy future technology will be), but it was honestly the funniest episode in recent memory. It's just nice to see that they can still write a good half-hour of comedy with some semblance of a plot.
