Hotshot creators that you're just not into.

mark millar's kinda hit or miss. :o other then that im not too opinionated as far as creators im against.

Mike Mignola. Okay, I've never actually read anything he's done, but the art just seems...off, to me.

Chris Claremont. Every time I read his work, I drift off.

And J.M.S., the guy who ruined Spider-man

I say Mark Millar, simply b/c I didn't like "Wanted". If the movie was even 40% accurate with the comic, then I have no reason to read it. His work in general doesn't grab me.
Frank Miller; I liked the movies of "Sin City" & "300", but not enough to pick them up. I hated "Dark Knight Returns", "Dark Knight Strikes Again", "Spawn/Batman", & "All Star". "Year One" was alright but I expected more. He just hasn't won me over.
TODD MCFARLANE! The man cannot draw worth a damn. His Spidey work was horrendous & the writing was worse. Spawn is just not interesting to me, & I find it unoriginal & uninspired.
I'm rapidly coming to a point where I wanna add Alex Ross to the list. His redesigns in Kingdom Come, Earth X & the general redesign concepts he comes up with are terrible. Plus, I'm starting to see where too much "realism" in a comic diminishes its impact. The project he's working on right now, w/all the old-school heroes, has me feeling a little blah. I see them for what they are; just men in tights. When you look at a superhero, you're supposed to be in awe of them, IMO. Ross is robbing us of that little by little.

Mark Millar, Jeph Loeb, Warren Ellis (except on some creator-owned stuff), Humberto Ramos. That's all I can think of right now.

Jim Lee-His Hush was cool, but his Superman and All Star Batman Tanked for me, he should just stick to drawing
George Perez- Love his artwork now and back in the day, but his stories seem trapped back there! another who should just stick to drawing
Rob Liefield-the guy cant even draw. I dont know how this guy got where he did?

Jim Lee did stick to drawing for Superman and ASB&R, didn't he?

I met that dude at my local comic store back then and said he was a collaborator on Superman and All Star which i took it to mean that he had some input along with Miller and Azzarello on the writing. Now how big of an influence he had on the writing i dont know. Nice dude all the way, but i think he should just draw.

Same goes for Perez, right? I have never heard of him actually writing. Maybe a one-shot or something.

No, Perez actually wrote the post-CoIE relaunch of Wonder Woman's series.

Avoiding creators I actively dislike -

A lot of Brian Vaughn's work actually leaves me kind of cold. Big chunks of Last Man and Ex Machina just leave me not really able to care.

Peter David's work similarly tends to end up on my Meh list. I gave his She-Hulk another try a bit ago and just couldn't get into it.

Jeph Loeb.

for the life of me I can't get his popularity, I've read most of his Batman work, and the only decent story was Long Halloween. and even that was more of a pulp film noir story. the rest of his work is ok to downright awful. (Ultimates 3 anyone?)

Frank Miller, to me, comes off as a perpetual twelve-year-old. Every time he cranks out another Batman story, he just reinforces that, since half of the time he's more focused on having him trash Superman ("LOL GOOD GUYS R 4 TEH GAYS") than fight any actual villains. The guy can't do anything aside from 'dark-and-gritty' that's been so overdone that it's flat-out comical at this point, full of misogyny, gay-bashing, and xenophobia. To me, Miller is just a more talented Rob Liefeld.

Okay first off...no. second off read his Daredevil, Big guy and rusty, Hard Boiled, Ronin, and 300. And if you still don't like his work then go read those boring superman comics(where creativity goes to die).

All-Star Superman would disagree with you.

Grant Morrison

I'm not a fan of his "weird for the sake of weird" approach. I like some of his work, but I think he is grossly overrated. And despite what the Morrison fans may say, I think his writing works best when he's on an established property as opposed to his own creations.

Funny thing is, he told me he loves Superman. He just enjoys seeing Batman kick his @$$.

So much so that he makes it a major element of almost every Batman story he writes.
