Just curious. Back when I was growing up I always loved Spider-Man, the movie was just amazing news to me. I was always made fun of in my class for liking a "baby" thing, and I'd always be drawing Spider-Man (and other characters), I'd have shirts and stuff. Then the movie comes out and of course I was just in love with it. Then my class all loved it too, suddenly it was cool to like Spider-Man.
The cinematography always grabbed me. The sunset in the posters, the way the city and sky looked when he was swinging, I always loved it. It also helped influence my art through the years. The images stuck with me and they still do. Even the look of the costume grabbed me. And it was actually nice not to have as much access to the internet as I do nowadays. Everything was more of a mystery. I did get my crappy computer to play the teaser 100 times, but I only saw that second trailer once with Lord of The Rings and that was it until I saw it on a VHS tape in April 2002. So I really knew nothing about how the movie would be until books started coming out. =\ I was a little bit more infromed with Spider-Man 2 because our computer was great, but it wasn't mine. I remember last Lord of The Rings film had the Spider-Man 2 teaser on it, which I did not expect (but I did hope to see one). The excitement when hearing the score play (which I knew well) was awesome! Then Ock's tentacles hitting the ground, and him climbing up the building. Crazy! I didn't even get to see that one again until my mom rented "Something's Got To Give" I think, and it was on there. But thankfully, that episode of The Apprentice played that one trailer, which I totally recorded.
Then I got my own computer in 2005 and so Spider-Man 3 was just spoiled beyond belief with me, but I was okay with that because 2006 was a great year, especially that summer. Staying up all night to be some of the first people online to watch that teaser. Hell yes.

Just letting that spill out. Spider-Man and the movies have been a HUGE part of my life, wheather you find that sad or awesome it is true. Not to say other things aren't big, but as for fictional stuff, yeah. I think about these movies alot, watch them once in awhile, talk about them with friends, still draw Spidey pictures, and everyone who knows me in real life knows damn well I like Spider-Man.

:ikyn:spidey:

First two were pretty good and got my interest back in comics
3 was a little dissapointing, though not that bad.

I really love the first two, especially Spider-Man 2. It's my second favorite comic book movie after TDK.

Fair enough.

I know some people didn't care for it as much as the other two, I still really loved it though. I see alot of movies and the little bad things don't hurt them too much. All three Spidey films had their flaws but I still loved them. Hard to explain, but what I like isn't what someone else likes always. Doesn't matter to me. ^_^

The Spidey films have had a major impact on me, in that it peaked my interest in CG.

Yes, I think the first two films were in the overall better films, Spidey 2 being the best. But while 3 had problems, the good stuff was really good. For example, the fight iwth Harry was better than all three fights with Norman combined. I think Rosemary Harris had her most effective scenes in 3. And no question Sandman and Venom were excellent visuals. It's just that more should have been done with them as characters. And Bryce as Gwen was, to me at least, everything that we're told MJ is supposed to be in these films.

I think Rosemary Harris had her most effective scenes in 3.

Really? I loved her story about how Ben proposed to her, and how she tells Peter revenge is like poison.

But I thought her most moving scenes were in SM-2, like when she breaks down into tears trying to give Peter the $20 on his birthday, or when Peter confesses his part in Ben's death to her, and her forgiveness of him, and the impassioned speech about what Spider-Man means as a hero to people etc.

I think May was a major element in Peter's story in SM-2. Alot of his journey swung on her, and it was really nice to see May have such a prominent role. Plus Rosemary was great in the hostage scenes with Ock at the bank. She didn't constantly scream and blubber like MJ. Or have a heart attack like the frail May of the comics would have at the very sight of a safe door being hurled at her.

these films are HUGE in my life. mainly because, alot like the comics, I an relate to alot of what pete/spidey goes through (sans the webshooters / superhuman strength) has trouble getting the girl, gets the girl but can't hold onto her, money issues, crappy luck, etc;. besides, all the actors were fantastic in their respective roles, and the musical scores are so evocative and emotional, there constantly on my ipod, and when they aren't, i'm singing one tune from the movie in my head.

I liked the 20 dollars scene. But I didn't really like Peter's reaction. Let's remember that Peter's only reason for getting a job at the Bugle was to help May. So I was bothered that he did nothing in this film. Or at least make the attempt.

I also liked that she showed some gumption in the robbery scene even if it kinda sank into camp (her flight to the building ledge, Her umbrella saving her and cold-clocking Ock as hard as one of Spidey's punches). I also didn't like her "What do you mean, we?" line. Alot of dialogue in te Spidey films just seems to be there to take up time rather than really meaning something.

However, I didn't like the confession scene, neither from Peter's end or May's reaction of rejecting Peter or forgiving him. I never really thought through exactly why I don't like the scene, but I just never connected to it. I guess it seemed a little pointless for Peter to confess about that and not tell her about Spider-Man. And as someone mentioned when the film was released, why would May be upset at Peter if she didn't know he was Spidey? Would she have wanted him to be shot as well? As far as she knows, he can't dodge bullets.

In 3 on the other hand, I really liked the interplay between Peter and May in the scerne where he tells her that Marko was dead. Peter's proud revelation, her disappointment, and then Peter's uncertainty.

And I really liked the scene in Peter's apartment. I think May's wrords were more important and effective than her "heroes" speech in two, which I really didn't like.

The problem I have with May overall in these movies is that they just don't seem to have any plan of how to use her. She's too often just a piece of scenary rather than a real part of Peter's life.

Spider-man was a huge deal for me because it was like a dream come true that I was finally being able to see the character come to life. Also i knew it was going to be big and it wasn't perfect but they still did a great job.

Spider-man 2 i warmed up to Maguire and the Spider-man franchise was epic . It's a great film that i've seen countless times.

The anticipation for SM3 was off the charts . It's insane how mant times I had watched the trailer. I was shocked we were getting Venom so early and i didn't want to ruin it by seeing him. I only watched the trailer where we get a glimpse at the end.
After watching SM3 opening day in Imax i was actually really digging the first hour before it went downhill. Harry's amnesia didnt bother me much either. I thought Topher Grace was an excellent choice but it just get to where it needed to be with Venom and gwen just dissapeared from the story. Spider-man in the black suit was awesome but only in the fight scenes , emo Peter was just painful to watch . There is so much more they could have done with Venom and the black suit but instead it just made Peter a *****ebag when they could of went the scary route. I walked out mad but since then i've appreciated the film because there are alot fo good parts. If they hadn't killed Brock it wouldnt of bothered me so much . Also it would of been nice to see Venom come to earth the way it did in the comics and it would of been a good follow up using Jonah's son. Bryce as Gwen was gorgeous , i loved her.

Now comes Spider-man 4 and i'm excited but not as much . It depends where they go with it . I think they will redeem the series though .

I´m also a big fan. It was very hard, I was the only one of my friends who liked Spider-Man until I found the Superhero Hype Boards. I´m 15 years old now and at the beginning, I couldn´t understand English and I didn´t understood what you guys had written. I want to thank all of you for giving me and the other ones a lot of informations. It´s good to know that other people also like what I like and that´s Spider-Man. Thank you all! :yay:

I'm one of the biggest fans EVER! In fact, right now I’m collecting the Marvel Heroes die-cast cars made by MGA entertainment. I am specifically trying to complete my Spiderman collection. I just spotted a three-wheeled Spider man car on eBay that I have never seen before. I really need it!

http://cgi.ebay.com/NIB-MARVEL-HERO...ItemQQptZDiecast_Vehicles?hash=item3ca78df2db

I emailed the seller to break the set and just sell me the Spiderman car. I haven’t heard back and I think that is probably a slim chance of happening.

I should probably start another thread about this in a more specific forum, but do you guys know where else could I get it? I can’t find it anywhere. Is this particular model that rare? Also, anybody have the model number that would be labeled under the car?

Hit me back!

The first Spider-Man film was great.
The second one was excellent.
The third one was really bad.

I still remember when I first saw Spider-Man! The first movie had come out, and I really didn't want to see it (believe or not), because I hate spiders (later evolving into arachnophobia). But my dad was taking my sister and my mom wasn't home, so I had to go, and wound up loving it. After Spider-Man 2, I began reading the comics and watching the TV shows, and later I began getting into the rest of the Marvel universe, later spreading that love to all superheroes, and now, I am an absolute geek who is first and foremost obsessed with Spider-Man and idolizes Stan Lee. So yeah, my life was changed forever.
