How can I prove the First Ammendment is really a myth in America?

If you're going to get the forum to do your homework, you shouldn't make it so transparent.

simple answer is: you cant.

its real. its out there. and its been the basis of some landmark decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court.

If you want to prove its a myth, it really wont matter what you say, because the only people you'll be able to convince will probbably be tooo busy watchign dora the explorer to care.

Well, the freedom of speech thing isn't as free as you like, and unfortunately, the color of your skin determines the extent of that freedom. Imus says one thing -- jokingly -- that rappers say constantly among other things and he loses his job. Not one word he says is racist, yet the sharks and race baiters come out in droves to destroy a man. Even funnier when glorified ambulance chaser Al Sharpton gets involved. I hope he's happy, the lying piece of trash.

Rappers aren't on MSNBC.

You have the right to say anything you want and no one can PUT YOU IN JAIL... however, that's all Freedom of Speech covers. Your boss still has the right to fire you if your remarks cost him lost business (as in the case cited above). The people you make nasty remarks about still have the right to sue you for defamation of character, libel or slander if your remarks are untrue.

IMUS is NOT a Free speech issue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow, great retort. I got a better one! :whatever::whatever:

Oh, that's right. It isn't like rappers are available to be heard on the radio, on the TV, through CDs, and other readily available sources. :whatever:
1- advertisers threated to pull out of CBS.
2- people buy rapper's records.

thats the difference. $

but again, what Imus said has NOTHING to do with free speech. DId the cops come banging down the door to throw him in jail? no. And why not? because it has nothing to do with free speech!
