How Could Spidey Be Winning??

Lol, or tag Quicksilver.
Yea no kidding...but you know, even though you can have your flesh melted off to the bone and still win the fight, a well placed kick to the groin or a karate chop to the throat will surely do you in :cwink:

Indeed. I imagine his groin must've taken some damage, seeing as how most of his body mass was flayed off in that instance. And yet, a kick to the same place is supposed to make all the difference?

Have you ever even read a comic? That exact thing played out in Peter Parker Spider-Man issue 14.

The fight ends with Spider-Man holding his bloody and broken hands and the HULK looking down at him unphased. The only reason he doesn't pound him then and there is because the entire fight Spidey has been talking to himself about his "dead" wife and the HULK feels bad for him. He says something like "BUG MAN'S WIFE IS DEAD. HULK'S WIFE DEAD TOO. HULK SORRY." Right after that Spider-Man almost passes out just from over exerting himself while fighting the HULK, when the HULK shows NO signs of being tired. Sorry you loose.

i have that exact comic. spider-man's speed was probably depicted, but not his strength, as usual

No offense, but who cares about Spiderman's strength when it comes to fighting a creature that has limitless strength? 15 ton strength capacity vs a guy who destroys an asteroid and lifts a mountain...

First off, "was probably depicted". Why not try and read the comic since you have it. Second, you understand he has a strenght of 15 tons. Which, if you read the comic you would know his strenght was depicted since he was picking up steel beams and hitting the HULK with them with no affect. He's fighting a comic book character who has been said to be the strongest comic book character EVER. And you expect Spider-Man to be able to pound him into pulp? I'm the biggest Spider-Man fan ever. Ask my wife. HULK has always been second, but I'm not an idiot. The HULK has unlimited strenght. Some of you guys are being ridiculous. I've actually given you an issue of a fight between Spidey and the HULK IN SPIDER-MAN'S OWN BOOK! And you actually try to discredit the book. Your insane. By your logic I could say that Spider-Man can fly, it's just that no writer depicts his ability to fly. Damn writers.

Lol,

Results are in and Spiderman won the whole tourny beating Magneto in the finals :whatever:
Read the reasons why people voted for Spiderman under the results for some good laughs. You can tell they are people who never picked up a comic and got all their info from the movies.

Yup..they probably only watched the movies...:csad:

And I'm still amazed over the people that say all Spiderman has to do is use knock out gas...can withstand an atom bomb but will be rendered unconcious with the all powerful knock out gas :whatever:

i meant to say "properly depicted". if someone with 15 ton strength is swinging steel beams at the hulk and has no effect, what will?

the swing of a baseball bat has who knows how much more force behind it than that of a regular punch. maybe 10 times? and spider-man was using a STEEL beam, so with that analogy, the hulk was recieving 150 ton strength punches. and it wasn't phasing him? give me a break.

then you have the ultimate avengers cartoon with captain america landing hits on the hulk and the hulk feeling it.

like i said, strength wasn't properly depicted.

it's like saying you wouldn't feel anything if a little kid swung as hard as possible into your face. you won't be going down soon, but you'll sure as hell feel it.

You have got to be kidding! You based your analogies on normal human standards there is nothing that hints about the Hulk being normal, no way not even close.
Sure i'd get knocked down by a little kid with a baseball bat in his hands, but steel pipes are not worth comparing to a nuclear bomb or bombs coz the Hulk has taken several hits of such destructive force as a nuke and comes out of it unharmed.
Just let it go man Spidey is an awesome creature in the comics because of his skills and wits in terms of fighting his oponents, but the Hulk just uses his raw strength to flush out the bad guys period. and nothing stands between him and his rage all who tried got trashed.:oldrazz:

Spidey won because many were probably voting from the 'popularity' standpoint rather than the 'who would win' standpoint. To many people the Hulk is this big brute (which is far from the case) and Peter is an everyman who one can relate to. In a real fight, I don't care if this is post-Other Spider-Man. The Hulk would cream him if left to his own devices. But most people see this more as defending their favorite heroes than from a grounded standpoint.

That's true.
