I blogged this and thought I'd share it:
You make some good points. However I think the 90's cartoon series showed that you can have the hobgoblin appear before the green goblin.
Nice, but your five A-list villains are pure bullsh**.
As long as we don't get USM it's all for the best.
I agree with a lot of what you posted, except for your A-List, and having Doc Ock in the first movie. Too soon IMO, considering the greatness that was Doc Ock in SM2. Especially if you consider the greatness that was the Wall Battles and the Train Battle.
I want to see 'Kraven's Last Hunt' desperately on screen. One of the main reasons that I think Raimi's movies are mediocre, is because you can't put story arcs in it like Kraven's Last Hunt. It's why they couldn't even do the symbiote story right, because of the cheese, fluff and catering to children. You can capture every essence of Spider-Man (witty banter) and still give us stories and villains with their balls attached.
That's because Raimi didnt like the venom character.
Just like Burton with The Penguin in Batman Returns and Nolan with all the supernatural Batman villains.
I would focus on the Lizard as the villain. I'd also make Billy Connors one of Peters' high school classmates. The story would have 2 plotlines. The main action/adventure plot would have Spider man trying to stop the Lizard from continuing to eat people. The sub plot would involve Peter, still reeling from the loss of his uncle, helping Billy cope with what's happening to his father.

Did that really happen? I watched it as a kid like a maniac but i don't remember this.
The show's pretty infamous for that.
Yeah. And his costume and glider were inside Oscorp, changed color by the gas that turned Norman into GG and was then WORN by Osborn.
The 90s cartoon was so bad, lol
The 90's animated series was good IMO, it just seemed to lose it near the end. I still love the 3 part Venom/symbiote series, and I give it big props for a much better telling of how the symbiote came to be.
PFFFFT- carnage sucking life forces? That sucked
How else do you expect something like Carnage to get popular with da ladies?
You made good points.
