Those are microwave emitters of much smaller scale and potential, as you rightly pointed out, they are used for crowd control, exciting (and literally boiling) the water within the body causing intense, catastrophic pain. But on the scale they are used in Batman Begins, to cause widespread damage, to not just people but equipment, yes they do have to be mounted on planes as they require much more energy.

So that's energy weapons. Check.

Batman Begins energy weapons. BS

Principals that govern the Lazarus Pit. Check.

The pit itself. BS.
Yes, but my point, was that the Lazarus Pit isn't more plausible than the microwave emitters.

TDKR is about to jump the shark like Lost season 6?

Not necessarily a bad thing. I loved season 6. Just reminds me of how the Lost writers kind of just sprung all of these mystical concepts on us after 5 years of ambiguity.

That's how I'm feeling as well. But you know what? Funnily enough, Inception reminded me of Lost Season 5 & the sideways portion of 6, and everyone embraced that so I'm not too worried. If it's Nolan then it's never bad :P

Has anyone considered the possibility that the League simply thinks the Lazarus Pit works? Like Ras Al Ghul is a moniker attached to each new heir to the throne? They are placed in the pit to "transfer souls" so to speak? Could explain why both Josh and Christian are on set..This is the new Ras Al Ghul..and given the resemblance, or some other plot point..Bruce has to question whether or not it's actually possible the lazarus pit works, or whether it's just a religious belief so to speak. Perhaps the new Ras knows things that seem impossible or something.

I don't know..just a friendly suggestion! I think odds are Nolan's got something up his sleeve. He wants us to think one thing from the set pictures..Could potentially be a mislead..(not to say the set isn't real, just that we aren't seeing it in the elaborate context he's built)

Ditto. I'm willing to embrace it if that's the case. Can't wait.

As you can probably tell by my user-name, Ra's Al Ghul is my favorite Batman villain. So I'm glad to see he'll be back in some fashion in TDKR.

It's a possibility.

But those are spy pics. Why would Nolan go out of his way to set up a fake production, just to mislead people who could potentially take pictures? I think you're giving Nolan way too much credit here.

I know, my point isn't that it's a fake set. Just that Nolan knows it will appear one way while taken out of context. He knows there's going to be spy pics of every outdoors set he does. I think it's very unlikely there will be a pit that resurrects Ras Al Ghul, yet here it is. Most likely scenario is that we're taking the pictures out of context. The set is absolutely real..I don't mean to suggest otherwise.

ice...............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
they want an ice pit (frozen see)
but there is no ice so they use a green screen for it

how bout that?

Don't know know, Trav? :o Nolan's filming a completely seperate & fake movie alongside TDKR about Talia and the League of Shadows. Robin Williams is also in talks to take a day off from his broadway show to meet with Nolan for coffee, so that our spies snap pictures and presume he's Hugo Strange. And whilst only cameoing as a Cop for the actual film, Joseph Gordon Levitt signed on specifically to show up in Pittsburgh in a Robin Costume for a day. Josh Pence isn't really in the movie either, he has a knack for signing onto films where you won't actually get to see his face and WB took advantage of this.

It's all part of Nolan's elaborate plan to throw fans off from the real story. He's simply brilliant :awesome:

this is actually an awesome idea.

No. I mean, you're missing my point as well. I never said Nolan is shooting a fake scene, or the set isn't real, or it won't be in the movie, or whatever else. I'm simply saying that Nolan may be aware of what a picture of the set implies taken out of context of the script. He knows pictures of the outdoor sets are going to get out there..and he's fine with that. Although the picture appears to be a Lazarus Pit (and may be somehow related to the idea), it really can't be understood outside the context of the films script. He, and his crew are probably aware of that..and welcome that kind of misconception..since it adds to speculation, and a degree of surprise at the final product. Similar to the Ducard/ Ras Al Ghul twist in Begins. We were told one thing, and set photos seemingly confirmed that..but out of context of the script things appeared differently than the final film.

Look at this for example. Resident Evil.

1-2-3 all had realistic explanations as to why there were monsters, science gone wrong. Completely plausible in our world.

Then 4...The monsters this time were ancient fossilized parasites, housed underneath a castle. That was bizarre.

Given our world isn't as realistic as we think anymore, especially given the fact that evidence tends to prove that aliens do exist.

Is it wrong for us to believe that there isn't some miracle cure out there,if we open our minds? And given the fact that this is after all a MOVIE...a movie made by a man who created realistic ways of making our dreams seem a reality.

If Nolan has found a realistic explanation and interpretation of the Lazarus Pit,then you bet he will use it.

Resident evil?!
...bad example imo.

We had good files providing somewhat plausible background on those monsters. From 4 onward, zilch. Works good as an example imo. How can a parasite turn a human into whatever Iriving was during the boss fight?

People take this realism thing too far. Its not that things are uber realistic in nolans movies. They are just taken with a degree of seriousness. ANything in the comics can be angled that way. Im excited if this is indeed the lazarus pit.

Bad example compared to Nolan, but it had realistic explanations as to why Zombies exist. All that science mumbo jumbo.

If Resident Evil had of been created by him,it would be EXACTLY the same, believe me.:oldrazz:

I really don't know what it is(I don't think it's the pit), but I'm not following your logic. You say Nolan doesn't have to use CG because The Tumbler isn't in CG(even though there are shots where it is), but at the same time, he's using that green screen for CG.

It was a joke. As in, if you could make an awesome car, you can make some...water.

I don't know what the hell the green screen is for, but I'd wager it's something that REQUIRES CG. As in, otherwise impossible (or just really hard or time consuming) to do practically.

I'm not one of those "Nolan never uses CG" weirdos, but using CG to do a pit of bubbly green liquid seems like the height of excess, and THAT is something that Nolan definitely isn't known for.

Maybe it's just a really really deep hole. THAT would need to be CG'd if it didn't exist in that location.

That's definitely green screen. But I wouldn't be thinking it's for anything overly complicated. Hell it'll probably just be water changing color or something simple like that. It would be a pretty huge departure for Nolan to go the Lazarus pit route at this stage, at least I think so anyway

People are acting like the pit is going to completely change the approach of the overall film which is laughable. And hell, the Lazarus pit might only be seen in a flashback based on someone's view as if they have seen & believed it helped to recharge Ra's Al Ghul in the past yet this isn't actually proven. The Nolanverse is only based on a realistic world. Who ever said there isn't unusual discoveries in this world? Don't take the realistic approach so literal. Remember this is Batman we're talking about.

There's plenty of CG in the Nolan films. In BB, in the shots of the city, part of it was CG. Remember that shot of that little village right outside of the city? It was CG as well. What about the visions from Scarecrow's fear toxin? There was a huge green out of the windows of Bruce's penthouse. I can keep going on. Did you really think they used real bats in BB? Perhaps watching the extras on the DVD's?

Do you have trouble reading? I KNOW he uses CG.

**** it, I'm out.

Um, do you have trouble remembering what you posted? Obviously you missed the point.

The examples I provided were excess yet you pretty much claimed the opposite.
