BB and TDK were clearly set in a universe where magic does not exist.

True, but its a universe where fake science not only exists but explains all.

Itll work just fine.

I'd like to hear the kind of science that explains a magical pit that makes you young after one dip.

Probably along the same lines of a MicroWave Emitter or a man with half a head not screaming in pain for 25 minutes before dying of infection.

:)

Have faith in Teh N0lan.

I really just dont think this is going to have any magical elements...I mean, a kid addicted to a magical goo? Not in a Nolan film, right..? I just cant see that happening...I am confused by all of it.

Both things that actually exist but some details were intentionally done wrong for the sake of the story.

Not magic.

The pit contains Oil of Olay.

Its filled with Rejuvenate, courtesy of the Umbrella Corperation.

OMG CROSSOVER.

Not magic.

The principals that govern the Pit are based in actual science, stretch it to the point where it fits to the film. Like Two- Face and Batman Begins' microwave emitter.

there are going to be plastic surgeons in scuba gear swimming in the pit... it's totally not magic, dude.

So, change the way the Pit works? I could believe that.

So a bald child coming out of a Lazarus Pit? I think the chances of the Pit appearing just got lowered alot.

They said the bald brat emerged from the pit right? As in the green screen pit?

If so, maybe it isn't chemicals at all. Maybe the kid is emerging from a whole in the ground. He crawls out, reaches the surface, but before he could go any further, is confronted by Ras -- who knocks him down -- down to his prison. Where he is spending his entire life for a crime his father commited.

Well I was kidding before with the whole combining Venom-Lazarus Pit but from the recent scene description...perhaps the Venom chemicals are found scattered around the globe and Ra's uses them to enhance his League Assassins? Perhaps Bane was the only one to survive the process? Interesting indeed.

Why would Nolan use CGI for basically a pool filled with some sort of liquid, instead of just pouring some coloured water in it?
Isn't that a little bit unpractical from a financial point of view?

Enhancing real water with CGI is one thing, but creating it completely on the computer would be a little bit decadent, don't you think? (Though of course, I'm no CGI expert.)

I think Nuffsaid's explanation is much more likely.
A pit - yes. But in the terms of a deep hole, tunnel, entrance to a cave/prison, call it whatever you want.

But the lazarus pit? Don't see it happening...

That could be it! Then again, wouldnt be the first time CGI was used on a small scale like a 'pool'.

Someone needs to mug Freeman for his script! :)

yeah i'm going to go with giant hole on this one. lazuras pit filled with venom is laughable

Yeah, in the recent photos, you can see two large ropes on the ledge of the well. I'm betting Bale is going into the well, possibly infiltrating Bane's prison.

But even with green screen, its too shallow to be a deep well/cave. So if Bale walks into it, there's a lack of depth because he would step in and then he would proabaly have to get to his knees. Does that make sense?

Maybe that's what they're going to do with the green screen? Make it look way deeper?

obviously. But you still need to make it deep enough for the actors to 'climb down'.

The logistics of a CGI Lazarus Pit don't quite work when you think about it.
