Bright or brainless?

I'm really liking the current take of the Hulk where Banner is essentially in control.

Smart, but not in the Banner-brain sense. My favorite Hulk was the moderately intelligent Bannerless one that got left behind on Earth-616 during Heroes Reborn. Green Scar and Professor are cool too.

Stupid Hulk is not worth reading to me. If a character spends 99% of their time growling or yelling a catch-phrase, they're not a character, they're a plot device.

I like the "Avengers:EMH" version. He's not intelligent but he's not dumb. In essences he has child-like mind in a brutes body.

I wouldn't call him child-like. More of a surly adolescent. Child-like is the moronic Hulk who yells a lot and then jumps away to play with deer out in some forest.

Well to me I liked Mr Fixit type smart. The Child-like to me was ok at times but it gets boring after awhile.

Definitely a smarter hulk, but its obvious that marvel prefers the dumber one unfortunately.

I love the Green Scar and Mr Fix It versions.

Green Scar has been my favourite incarnation.

Hulk should be a 6 year old throwing a temper tantrum in a gamma-irradiated body with near limitless strength.

I'm not sure if that would make him 'smart' or 'stupid'. I've seen some smart 6 year olds, but not generally when they are throwing temper tantrums.

Intelligent. I have nothing wrong with The Hulk being a child like savage or a surly teenager, but the fact is having him be so mentally impared now is just dear old bruce being stuck in a rut. He's overcome his psychological scars and relased so many times now that it's pathetic. Have him move forward. Have him grow. If you want to keep up the outcast angle, then give him some semblence of control over his condition but have him be hated and feared for the times when he didn't.

Yeah, I like him at, maybe roughly Green Scar-ish levels of intelligent.

Dude's not gonna be doin' his own super-science, but he can at least string a couple of sentences together.

But seriously I like Hulk to be smart it makes him feel less like a plot device.

Yeah, that. Banner is still the better character by far.

Fixit, but I'll also accept the Professor.

I used to like the big, dumb brute for Hulk, but quite frankly I've gotten tired of this rendition of Marvel's green giant because it makes it hard to have much character development when he's not Dr. Bruce Banner. Also, I like how the Hulk in the new Avengers animated series is protrayed, and I want to see more of this smart Hulk, hopefully in the big screen debut of the Avengers in 2012 as well. Smart is in!

Him during the events of world war hulk and planet hulk as a leader was probebly my fav version of the character.
