How do you want the transformation from Banner to Hulk, to look?

Well they can't neccesarily have a big green d!ck swinging around the screen can they?

that would be graphic. anywho, i think the transformation should definitly be painful, an right as its complete, give him this look of joy on his face, representing the hulk being released, and then have have like a shock wave or burst of energy surge from him when the tranformation ends, breaking a bunch of windows around him or something.

The thing is, Banner's transformation has to be fast--if his transformation was a long, slow, painful endurance test similar to An American Werewolf in London, then Banner would be just a sitting duck while he transformed. It would kind of stretch the believability of it all if the army or Abomination, after mounting their first attack, then waited to actually kill him for five minutes until he'd fully "Hulked out". ;)

^. I think about 10-15 seconds of 'real time' would be suffice. But for the sake of it being dramatic on film, and showing multiple things that are going on in and outside of his body, the longer the better imo.

Good idea there, actually--I wouldn't mind if they made the transformation longer if they did show what was going on inside his body.

Muscles expanding, bones snapping and healing back together, heart pumping harder and harder, red blood cells becoming green...it'd all make for an extremely interesting Hulk-out scene.

What about Hulk transforming back into Banner. How do peope want that to look?

Do you want it to be like it was in Ang's Hulk or something different.

I personally liked how Hulk turned back into Banner in Ang's Hulk, it was kinda cool with the steam.

As a fan of the TV transformation (used to scare the crap out of me when I was a kid) and the Rick Baker werewolf transormation as seen in AAWIL, I'd like to see some kind of nod to those (I'd say the white/green eyes are a must) but my favourite tranformations are from the old Hulk cartoons.

The punching of the fist together along with the sound of thunder in the 1st vid (geeky, I know, but what the hey) and the great shot in the 2nd starting with the back view of Bruce as he turns around and becomes a roarin' Hulk just look so cool to me.

If they could update these (obviously minus the light show and Stan Lee voiceover) with some slick CGI/Prosthetics mix and an emphasis on Bruce's rage ans sheer pain - I'll be a very happy man.

I agree with all of that. I had some nightmares that I still remember in graphic detail... trying to get away from the TV version of the Hulk. Finally, one day, I guess I grew up and was no longer afraid. At the end of the dream that gave me closure, I was walking down the road, like Dr. Banner did in the TV show. And the cartoon still looks as cool as ever IMO.

I couldn't disagree more... I think "HULK-SMASH" is something this movie can not go without! It just needs to sound right... Beastily, booming, raspy and powerful!

OT but by the look of the poster, the hulk appears to have his original look (i.e hair only on top).

Let's for the love of God hope he never says "HULK SMASH".
are you serious???!!! that is one of pop cultures, and the hulks most famous catch frases! how he could be in a movie and not say it is beyond me! i loved how in the first movie he says "puny human", all he needed to say as well was HULK SMASH!!

I liked the Hulk back to Banner sequence too. It was soppose to feel calming and it accomplished that.

Still don't understand the steam though.

The transformation of the first film was caused by regeneration gone uncontrolled. Hence why he turned into a bigger, green version of himself. When he calmed down, Banner's persona took over and the body received the trigger to kill of the excess cellular material that the Hulk had control over. It was shown visually as heat and water escapes the excess cellular material in the form of steam.

^What I just said is partially the reason why the first had both replay value and serious issues simplifying the material down for the audience.

all his excess energy turn into water and his body over heated while transforming back, hence the steam

Ah. I thought it was something to do with him just coming out the water. Like his pants were still wet, then the energy from the transformation caused it to evaporate..but whatever.

The transformation imo, could have SOME similarities of a warewolf trasform per say, but rather than being so painful, Banner should look fearful! Banner should look afraid to lose control of a caged beast. As Hulk is born, he's glad to be free again. As Banner is changing, he could just manage to say "Nooo!, people could get hurt! I can't control it!! Can't control HIM!" Then as we see Hulk, Hulk would say "At last, Hulk is free from puny banner ONCE MORE!!" Banner should look worried on some or most transformations, other than those times when it's really time to fight! So, I'm thinking some pain, but more fear...then freedom!

That´s something where I´d like to see a homage to the TV show, that sudden close of Banner with his eyes changed, moving in a frenzy, then you can do something more FX-oriented, but that particular image was stronger and creepier than anything Ang Lee did.

he absolutely has to say Hulk Smash... especially when he's smashing something or in the middle of transforming... when he's humanoid/hulkish transitioning... that would be the best time...tolerate spelling

He definately has to say "...The pain!" as he's transforming.

I didnt have a problem with the A.L. transformations
