How graphic is 300?

Hey all, I don't post much on these boards but I read a ton and have been reading on here almost daily since at least a year ago. So please bear with me.....

The reason I started this thread is because I wanted to hear from the people that have already seen the movie how graphic it really is. I'm totally ok with the violence, that kind of stuff doesn't bother me, but my concern is the sexuality and all. How much of that is in the movie. Is it long scenes of graphic sexual acts or is it just glimpses of stuff and that's all. I read somewhere that there was an orgy and stuff and I just don't really care to see that stuff. I just want to make sure that it's not as bad as some of the reviews are stating or if it is or not.

Again, please bear with me, I'm just trying to find out some info so I can make a decision on the movie, I really want to see it but I was just concerned on some of the graphic issues. Please let me know what you thought about it. Thanks. -nado11

It's allright, the sexual parts are not that x rated. Nothing you haven't seen before, as far as the orgy. It's more like one of the rap videos. there's a little nipple here and there, but nothing too crazy. As far as the violence, it's violent.Head falling off body and they show you everything. This is the most graphic movie I have ever seen, and they slow down those graphic scenes for you.The women liked it as well as the men.

So would you say it's more graphic "sexually" than Sin City, or about the same or less? (I only say Sin City because that's the only movie I can think of right now, probably because it is from Frank Miller too) I can deal with violence, and I can deal with the sexual stuff, to an extent. I don't think it's really ever needed but I can handle it. Would you say it's probably a safe bet that it's not as bad as some reviews say? Just trying to get some opinions. I really want to see this movie, I think it looks awesome and so far most have said good things about it. Thanks for the reply that you've given so far, I appreciate it.

Nah I don't think so, I have seen worst...It's the usual where they show the facial expression and a little skin. I think the NEO and Trinity love scene was much, much "much" worst. It's pretty tasteful, like I said before not too xrated. A little nippple, however you never get a complete shot of the two of them in bed.Just the top half of the torso and the queens face. Not that much sex in the movie. As for the gay part, didn't see any of that. Most of the people who says that must have never played sport. Football, baseball, basketball. It's a team , and if it's a great team everyone loves each other. Look at the Indinapollis colts. Nothing gay about that. The people who says is gay ar either intimadated or are gay themselves. I guess they are checking the guys out as much as the women.

any women seen the movies, thoughts.....

im debating taking my fiancee, she loves action and we have pretty much have same taste, i now she will be fine, but i am just wondering if she will ENJOY it or tolerate it though...

Thanks for the input everyone. I appreciate it. I'm more than likely going to see it tonight. I can't wait. I heard the battles were really epic and from what I could see from clips and all, the fighting style will be pretty cool. Thanks again everyone. -nado11

No more violent than Gladiator or Sin City...

Its an R rated film, if you dont want to see what comes along with that then dont see the film, but i feel that would be a waste as the movie was absolutely INCREDIBLE, i mean AMAZING, PERFECT just simply STUNNING. O and no the nudity wasnt over the top. GO SEE THIS FILM NOW, YOULL LOVE IT!!!

Yeah I saw the movie and loved it so much. Theres not really a orgy scene just some nipples like it has been said before and some stuff with the queen moaning and her breasts. Thats it. For violence its kinda on par with sin city. Not in terms of amounts but of how far it goes. Like in Sin City when Kevin gets his legs cut off. Pretty Graphic. In 300 the most you graphic thing you'll probably see to you is Decapitation. BUT ITS SOOOOO GOOD. GO SEE IT. The last 5 Minutes REALLY pay off
even though theres no fighting.

She'll like it,maybe even love it.
I know I did.

sexually, no its not graphic at all. The only real sex scene (SPOILERS) is one scene between the King and Queen. Nothing raunchy, just sweet lovin', and like others have said, they show just glimpses of a nipple and only top halfs of their bodies.

The other sex (more like rape) scene involves the Queen and the traitor, but there is no nudity whatsoever (both characters are clothed) and it only lasts a few seconds before they cut away.

There is also the orgy, although I wouldnt call it that. There is kissing, boobs and some fondling, but thats it. Very low key.

Really, by the time the sex scenes are done, you'll have forgotten about them due to the awesomeness of the following scenes.

This movie was fantastic! That said, it should have probably been NC-17.
There are sex scenes, more nudity than I've ever seen in another R-rated movie, and some more sexual content that is EXTREMELY offensive to the faint of heart (or even most people).
As a side note, studies show that the fact that you say you're okay with seeing violence leads to a strong possibility that you're being affected by it more than most. Just saying.
This movie is VIOLENT. Like, egregiously so. If I hadn't loved it so much, I'd probably be very offended.

sexually, no its not graphic at all.
I didn't even notice this post before, but I'm gonna get on a soap box now.
To say that this movie is not sexually graphic is incorrect. In fact, if you didn't think it was graphic, you probably missed the point.
There is a reason the movie went where it did and showed the things it did, and that is to prove a point (although I'm not always sure which point). 300 is intentionally extremely graphic.

Furthermore, the "second sex scene" you refer to is
not a sex scene at all.
To call it "(more like rape)" shows that you either tuned out or didn't think about it. It was rape. That much was obvious. The director and writer wanted to show you a rape, so instead of denying it, your movie viewing experience would be enhanced greatly if you would stop to think about why they showed it to you.
The fact that it "only lasts a few seconds before they cut away" is irrelevant. A couple seconds is quite enough when you're talking about rape.

Almost impossible to not have tears , plus with " Remember us " plAyin
So incredibly much it pays off. I got so close to tears. I never have nearly cried during a movie as much as I did during the ending of 300. Just the images of
The 10,000 Spartans charging into battle after Dilios's speech was better than any image except the destuction of the Ring int Lord of the Rings.
I cannot wait for 300 to come out on DVD, especially if the make a special edition that comes with the Graphic Novel or at least a issue of the comic like they did for 300.
