How the hell can Marvel let Loeb destroy Ultimates?

I just re-read the Busiek/Perez Avengers run this week for the heck of it. Man, people...you just have no clue how good the Avengers really could be.

Ultron is SO GOOD in those issues.

Just about everyone is. Busiek even wrote Thor kind of competently on the relatively few occasions he used him, which is saying a lot for Busiek where Thor's concerned.
