I hear you man, i grew up with watching DBZ dubbed and listening to Goku subbed for the first time blew my ears clean off, that's actually the main reason i skipped out on Super when it first released back in Summer of 2015, that voice was so weird coming from a Super Saiyan titan like Goku.

Fortunately TeamFourStar's Goku voice got me use to the subbed one a lot, right now i still don't really like it but the cringe has numbed down substantially enough to watch an episode of super without ripping my ears off.

And as usual Vegeta always knocks it outta the park, whether it be dubbed, subbed or TFS t:

Yeah, Landis does an impossibly good job as Vegeta on TFS. It unnerves me. Watch the video on their gaming channel where he plays Superhot as Vegeta. It is the greatest.

I'm watching the sub of Berserk, and I find that surprisingly palpable. Can't stand the DBZ subs though. Goku voiced by a 40 year old woman is #NotMyGoku.

The one thing I really hate about living in an apartment is the incompetence of the other tenants. The fire alarm just went off and I look out the hallway and see smoke. I knock on the door that the smoke alarm is coming from and the person woke up when I knocked. It turns out that they burned some food. The fire department had to come over and they used a really loud fan to get all the smoke out of the hallway. If you're going to cook food then why would you lay down and go to sleep?

Silicon Valleys a top tier show like Rick and Morty and recently as ive discovered Always sunny, speaking if the latter it's honestly rare for a show to still remain funny so many seasons in, i mean hits like Family Guy loses its charm 10 seasons in.

I almost always prefer dubbed anime. I tried to watch One Punch Man subbed recently... nah. Losses so much context for me.

Im the complete opposite Darth, OPM's humors one of its key selling points to me, a regular lazy bald dude bastah with the powers of 10 superman's but still not giving a **** about anything serious while his right hand man Genos is the serious one but always laughably gets his ass handed to him all the time always cracks me up.

I've found the same thing with Hellsing and Drifters. It could also be because the writers in charge of handling those dubs get real into the direct source material, but there's a lot of dialogue that loses its impact in Japanese.

I am the opposite. Dubs just sound awkward to me and especially when it comes to what is supposed to be humorous, it just falls flat. I'd rather read the content and have the original foreign language voice actors tones and general reactions give me the context. As an example I have never once laughed at any of the humor in DBZ but when I used to watch the fan made Subs on VHS, while still not belly laugh funny, I would get a chuckle or two out of them.

That is a good point. One thing missed in straight up subs is the less literal translation and flavoring it for a different culture. Getting the same joke across better by giving it a western context.

A good dub doesn't sound awkward for me. Almost all subs do. It helps that I understand the infliction so much better. Also for some odd reason, even as the lips don't line up all that well with dubs, it almost always seems better then the original language in my head.

I don't feel this way with most live action films, though I do prefer the dubs for Crouching Tiger and the Kenshin flicks.

Ahh then its taste in comedy, i must admit i absolutely adore Japanese brand of comedy, speedy and quick-witted, which is mainly why i don't like dubs, Westernized japanese humor doesn't appeal to me in the slightest and honestly speaking just comes of as plain cringe to me unfortunately, which is a shame given that i grew up with dubbed anime all those years.

Rick and Morty is waaaaay better than Family Guy. That said, I've only seen a few eps and it's not really the kind of thing I feel compelled to see more of either, despite appreciating their cleverness.

If The Simpsons wasn't dragged down by like 15 years of awfulness, it would be god-tier. The best Simpsons episode (which is Homer At The Bat, and that is not up for debate) is the best of any animated comedy.

But it is dragged down, and South Park has the way better overall track record.
