I got the Digital Copy of a movie and I noticed the quality was alot worse.
I tried to rip directly from the Blu Ray using DVDFab but still the quality is meh.

Is there a way to rip the blu ray quality onto your computer?

How large was the file when you ripped it and what program did you use?

Like with music if you keep a 1 to 1 ratio the file will be larger but the quality will be better.

Music CD approximately 700MB to a rip of Wav or FLAC will produce about the same 700MB to 200MB in size.

BR DVD approximately 50GB so if your rip is 700MB that would explain the quality loss. You can't compress/make a file smaller without losing data. Also depending on the file format or container that may also reduce the quality of the file.

I generally like m2ts files. They aren't full 1080p rips but they are only about 4GB in size and fit onto my PS3 so I can watch them and have a nice little catalogue to choose from. I was to say this makes them 720p.

Still pretty small, usually decent 1080p rips are 8GB-13GB or even 16GB. Again it also comes down to what program you used to rip it and if the movie is a new movie intended for BR or an older movie that was just upscaled versus getting the masters and properly putting it into BR 1080p quality.

Try avs forums for better detailed help.

How are you ripping them with DVDFab? I usually rip just the M2TS to rip and the quality is great. I use VLC to play them off the computer.
