How would YOU have done it?

Buffy-Season1

Just small changes.

-Jesse wouldve been a rival of Xanders who didn't get along too well with him, though they were friends when they were younger.

-Darla wouldve stuck around for an episode or two longer.

-Jenny Calendar wouldve been a bit more integral to the group, though not really a Scooby. She also wouldve had some scenes where she's watching Angel and Buffy.

Buffy-Season 2

-The Anointed one would've stuck around and led the group as a vampire famliy. He would've made some references to searching for the demon that would bring hell to Sunnydale.Spike still would've killed him after hearing him compliment Angelus. It wouldve been something out of left field.

-Jenny wouldve been in more episodes.

-Kendra wouldve appeared some more, and gotten better exposition.I'd also have her tone down the accent some. She wouldve had a much more compelling final battle with Drusilla.

Buffy-Season 3

-Mr.Trick wouldve bailed early and not had any connections with the Mayor.(I'm entertainging the idea that maybe the Mayor would actually drive him out, appearing as a good guy at first). He would later reappear as a villain on Angel.

-The Mayors plan wouldve been explained sooner, though not completely.

-Faith would've committed suicide.Nah,I kid.

-I have no idea how to make the snake thing better.I mean it had to be something big,but I don't think there's a way that wouldnt have made it anticlimactic.

Buffy-Season 4

I'm a bit biased,so I wouldve kept Oz around and that would pretty much change the show entirely in later seasons.I'll leave this one alone.

Buffy-Season 5

-We wouldve seen some alternate flashbacks involving Dawn in the Scoobies memories.

-Glory wouldn't find out Buffy is guarding the Key until much later.

Buffy-Season 6

I'll deal with this later...[/ominous tone]

Ooh, I like that. I'd set him up as sort of the uber-bad for those first few episodes, even gathering up his own crew and really causing a lot of problems for the Scoobies. Then the mayor would just kill Trick's whole crew in one fell swoop, setting the Mayor up as impossibly powerful.

That would have worked out. You know, I've always thought of how I would have done an Angel season 6/Buffy season 8. In it, I'd have my big bad resurect Mr. Trick (along with all of the big bads from the previous Buffy seasons) as a luetenant.

Q, the smallville ideas are pretty good, but i don't think smallville wouldn't have lasted as long as it has if those ideas were in place.

what we have is the whole transitional phase into becoming superman.

you gave us way too much in the first season, a fight for the planet at age 18, and then basically superman sans the tights in season 4.

i probably wouldn't have watched.

i guess i'm the only one satisfied with the way things turned out

Probably not. But then, it wouldn't be intended to.

Not really. Smallville has had way too much super heroics for it to be a transitional story from Clark to Superman.

How is it way too much? Hell, there would hardly be any super hero stuff in the first season. Story wise, season one would be comperable to the Wonder Years or Freaks and Geeks. Much more character driven. And, slowly, I'd introduce the fact that he has powers, and the season finale would probably be his first super fight. Season two would have him digging into his origins, and getting the advuce from Martian Manhunter. Season three would have the digging from season two come back to bite him in the ass. And yes, season four would be somewhat like Superman sans the tights. But, that's how he was before he got the tights. Going around the world, saving lives, and doing good in secret.

While I liked Smallville early on, it got way to cluttered with super heroics, and took far to many liberties.

eh?

It mightve been cool, but there's no way they wouldve fallen in line.

Typo. Anyway, that's what mind control is for. The big bad would be playing them.

Well, my idea is the big bad is some crazy ass sorcerer who wants to "make the world a more interesting place" by quite literally unleashing hell on Earth. To acheive this goal, he goes to the former site of Sunydale, and using what magics that still linger from the Hellmouth, resurects The Master, The Mayor, Mr. Trick, Adam, and Warren. At first, they act as if they're all equal partners in whatever ventures they take part of, but it becomes quickly clear that the sorcerer is pulling all of their strings and is the real one in charge.

What seasons were you referring to?

I'd assume Buffy season 8 and Angel season 6.

It would seem to contrived to resurrect all of those Big Bads.Warren and Trick were never all that powerful or necessary.

But, Warren has an area of expertise. Robotics. If Adam and Warren worked together to create an army of cyborg demons, we'd all be quite ****ed. And Trick always struck me as quite the tactical genius. Either way, the main villain has a flai for the dramatic, so he sees it as creating his own Legion of Doom.

I thought they were quite good. Especially after they introduced Illyria. And really, how could you not love "Smile Time"?
Smile Time may be the highlight of human civilization.

I'd change a few things in Smallville.

1) Lana and Clark hook up and stay that way non of this lois garbage that's coming.

2) Clark would be able to fly season 3 area but only for short periods till the series finale when he could do it 24/7

3) Better and more acurate hero cameo's

4) at least one rescue on halloween where he's in some old circus strong man costume or something.

5) Two words Bruce @#$%ing Wayne.

how would you have remade dark angel?

-I would of made Chloe be played by a hotter actor.

Funny, because I personally think she's the hottest one on the show.

Anyway, slightly off topic, but this is how I would have handled redoing the TV show too. I posted this on the official TF Movie boards in the "How would you have done it" thread.

Heres how I would have handled it.

Story, the Cybertronian civil war is going bad for the Autobots, Prime devises a plan to establish an off world fall back spot where they can secretly build up forces, weapons, research etc. while keeping the decepticons at bay on Cybertron. He sends a small task force of Bumblebee, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Wheeljack under the command of Jazz. Unfortunately Soundwave brings word of the mission to Megatron and Megatron, Runabout, Runamuck, Starscream, Thundercracker, and Skywarp leave to intercept the mission. Prime learns of the intercept mission and leaving Prowl in command of Cybertron launches a small interception shuttle to warn his team. He gets there in time to see the Nemesis boarding the Ark and docks with the other side of the Ark. In the battle the ships begin to fall towards earth, separate and the nemesis crashes into the ocean while the Ark crashes in the rocky mountains. All the transformers are damaged and put into stasis lock.

2000 years later a small tremor caused the Ark's automated repair system to activate but due to the damage to the computer it is unable to tell friend from foe and repairs the decepticons. Pretty much the same opening for MTMTE here, Starscream "says goodbye" and the Autobots are awakened.

Megatron decides to search for the nemesis as the ark was too badly damaged to repair, so he can return to Cybertron. The first film follows his attempts to secure the resources he needs to repair the Nemesis, and the Autobots meeting the Witwickeys. It would end with the Nemesis crashlanding once again, Megatron in a rage, and a transmission from Shockwave "Lord Megatron... we've finally found you." Characters who would die would be Ratchet, Runabout, and Thundercracker.

The sequel would deal with how the war on Cybertron went during the 2000 years Optimus and such were gone. Shockwave had for the most part conquered Cybertron, with Prowl, Grimlock, and Ultra Magnus all leading large resistance factions. Prowl's being loyal to Prime and the Iacon Council, Ultra Magnus being more of a people's resistance type faction wanting to establish a cybertronian democracy, and Grimlock's just wanting to kill as many Decepticons and possible. Also, due to Shockwave's lack of charisma, Decepticon morale was low and he was anticipating a coup. He needed Megatron to restabilize the Decepticon factions. When the Nemesis was reactivated on Earth he detected the energy signature and contacted Megatron. Spies for Prowl's faction find out about Megatron being alive and Prowl sends Hot Rod, and Hound in a small stealth shuttle to find out if Prime is also alive.

Shockwave sends the Constructicons to earth to build a Spacebridge to bring Megatron and his troops home. There would be a huge battle between the Autobots and decepticons around the completed space bridge ending with the Autobots getting through before the spacebridge is destroyed. Once back on Cybertron, Prime unites the Autobot factions and starts to push back the demoralized decepticons. Meanwhile the Constructicons rebuild the Nemesis and Megatron and his troops return to Cybertron. Prime and Megatron have their final one on one battle while the main autobot characters fight Devastator. Right before Megatronis about to strike the killing blow on Optimus, Starscream attacks from behind, supposedly killing him and taking the mantle of decepticon leadership. With Prime wounded and out of the fight, the Autobots pull back, while the Decepticons, now with a charismatic leader, hold their ground. The film ends at a stalemate between Autobot and Decepticon, just a new moon rises over Cybertron.

Key members of the Autobot factions would be:

Prowls: Hound, Hot Rod, Arcee

Ultra Magnus: Kup, Springer, Mirage

Grimlock: Dynobots(yes, dynobots), Cliffjumper.

The 3rd film would be Unicron. Megatron reformatted as Galvatron, Unicron's herald. Starscream would remain leader of the decepticons, and join forces with Prowl's autobots. Prime would be wounded through most of the film, mostly just making strategy instead of being a field commander, finally sacrificing himself to defeat Unicron while Bumblebee, who will have been molded into the future leader throughout the three films is transformed by the matrix into the new Prime, takes out Galvatron. It ends with a grudging truce between Autobot and Decepticon. Prime and Megatron are dead, leaving the fate of Cybertron in the hands of a new generation.
