HT Improvement(s) on The Dark Knight – 12" Batman (TDK Version)

Well, I just got my Hot Toys TDK Batman, and I will not repeat all the nice things folks have said about it, except I do agree, it is awesome.
If I was to have one nit-pick, it would be the way the cape is attached, I would have liked it to be a little more secure, as someone else here said, it can be difficult to get the clips in just right, and it comes loose a bit too easily. Gets to be a pain when you have to keep re-attaching the cape when posing the figure.
All in all though, it's a minor nit-pick, and the cape looks great once you finally get it set right. A great figure all the way around.

How did you get the cape to lay flat on top?

When I first laid eyes on the Hot Toys TDK figure I thought it could not be bettered, and not being a fan of the original Medicom Begins figure I had all but written them off... and then I saw this:

The problems is with Medicom that so many have said is! What happens with the prototype (pictured above) ends up a huge difference to final production.

Well, despite being careful after reading all the warnings here and elsewhere, I've gone and snapped the pin on the wrist ball joint for my TDK Batman. I've gone ahead and e-mailed Hot Toys themselves, but in case I don't get any satisfaction from them in replacing it (How likely is it they will help?), what can I do about it? Anything?
Seems to me for the price I paid, those wrist joints should be a little stronger than that. Considering all the different people I've seen that have had this happen, it appears to be a flaw in the product rather than a singular incident.

Unless you bought it directly from Hot Toys then I would say they can't help you. If you were trying to mod the figure and it broke then I don't think any company will help you.

I would try to find a new part on Ebay, that's your best bet. I looked myself and there are few people selling just the hands. Now the joints are not in the pictures, but I'm sure they would sell them to you.

Not true, the thing that really got the ball rolling with Hot Toys sending out replacement pegs was the receipt, and a photo of the broken peg(s). This has came up a number of times on sideshowfreaks.

If you sent them an email with none of this, the chances of getting a response is slim.

Nope, not doing any mods, just swapping the hands supplied with the figure. I will check E-bay.

What it looks like so far is, there is someone selling hands on ebay, but it appears they lack the ball-joint. For now I'll probably have to get a whole True-Type body. That's OK, I was thinking of getting one anyway to make a Bruce Wayne figure, I'll just have to make one of Wayne's hands permanently attached in a set pose so I can use the ball-joint on the Batman figure. That's OK, I can't really see doing any extreme poses with it.

Update :
Just ordered a pair of Hot Toys Army Ranger gloved hands with joints included for a little under twenty bucks including shipping from Hong Kong. This way. I'll have a replacement for the peg I busted and a spare. The seller has a 99 + % positive rating, this being my very first ebay purchase, lets hope it goes well. BTW, I will likely still get the true type body to make a Bruce Wayne kit bash, any recommendations about getting him a nice suit?

So, I was going to wait until I got my BR Joker before I snapped any more pics, but seeing as someone at UPS has screwed up, my Joker is now sitting in Canada, waiting to ship, so I decided I'd go ahead and take a few more solo bat-pics. No Photoshopping involved, just some lighting-play.

Those pictures are amazing. For a figure, the cowl is pretty expressive. It seems to change demeanor whenever an angle is changed.

The seller I got it from kindly e-mailed me a copy of the receipt, and I may be able to take a pic of the busted peg with my web-cam. I just hope they ain't looking for a high-def pic, cuz that ain't gonna happen. Wish me luck. If I can get a replacement peg from HT, that means I'll have TWO extras. That would be nice.
