Hype! Deathmatch: The Return!

Diplomacy is not needed in a place where there is nobody to negotiate with.

And I miss the JALs, GAHs, Blind_Fury's, Taiwarriozs, Kainedamos, Ghostrider87s.

I agree that community is less active than it once was. I think it is because less is going on here. We have Survivor and the Deathmatches going on now, but when we don't have those running, nothing is going on. And anymore, the same people play Survivor. We need new posters to stand up and take charge here. Do more to get the community active again.

I think games like Survivor, Deathmatch, and various others help build the community. Or in this case, rebuild it.

I remember Survivor and Deathmatch threads going multiple pages though. Which isn't a reflection on the hosts or participants but there was a time when you had too many people to choose from now you kinda have to look around and ask, just unfortunately a sign of the current times.

Those types of threads got posters involved vs the usual posts like...

"I can't believe that person killed/raped/maimed/ate that other person, they deserve to die!"

"Hi lounge, I'm hungry"

"Cool pic!"

"LOL! I laughed"

"Check this out, www.randomURLthatIthinkiscool.com "

... discussion is important, but the very title of this forum... Community... should denote involvement versus just being an "agree-er". The split of Community into so many individual forums has also hurt IMO... but I digress.

More games, more threads where people get involved, a little more leeway when it comes to discussion, simple things that I think would rebuild the Community.

You are so right knowsbleed. And let me say you are an incredibly sensitive man, who inspires joy-joy feelings in all those around you.

Alcohol usually prevents that condition... but I don't drink as much as I used to. Sorry about that, won't happen again.

I find myself sapped of LOLosity lately... besides, I liked you better when you had boobs.

I needed a reduction. My back was killing me.

I am going to do one last mole...we need something besides 4 survivor games a year.

I wouldn't want to host the Hype Awards. I'd help out, but I'm too new to host something as established as that, I think.
You damn well better, I don't have the legs to make the cocktail dress work! :argh:

One of these days I may get this Murder Mystery game going that I've had in my head for years. I'll need a new plot though, as I used the one I originally planned on using in a Survivor challenge a week or two ago.

THAT's something I'd love to do.

Are people afraid of getting banned or something? Good discussion is definitely rare these days. Or are we just getting a lot of younger people?

The lounge usually annoys me these days. I hate "Hi everyone!" and "I'm gonna go get some cake, goodnight everyone!" and pretty much announcing your presence in general, etc. Go on Twitter or something for that kind of thing.

I think it's just a decline in posting in general but it's because there aren't that many people here anymore.

I think as this place gets more mainstream, the likelihood of being banned is going to increase. I can look back at some of the stuff I said three years ago and today I think I would have been banned.

I also think the splitting of the community has hurt it. Now 20 people hang out in the celebrity thread, 10 in the diner, etc. instead of all of those people in here.

If enough people are interested in playing the mole, I certainly wouldn't mind bringing it back but if not then I am not going to bother with it. I would like some big names to play this time. Matt always says he will play and then never does:o

I'll play Mole 4 if you run it chase

I also agree splitting community has hurt it long run. People used to post in all sorts of threads because they were here. So, while they may have posted mostly in celeb threads, they would venture out to other areas. Now that you have to navigate away, even if it only takes a second, it makes people less likely to do it. It's just human nature to be lazy in that way.

I think the 20-30 people who stick to the celebrity and diner threads wouldn't really make a difference. I think the lag hurt and I maybe in the minority here but I think that the more stringent rules have hurt as well.

I agree about the rules. I appreciate what the mods do here, but we all know that there have been many times where a poster was banned for the most inane and ridiculous reason. It gets to a point where people are afraid to say anything more than "Cool" because they may get an infraction or a ban if they say something that a mod deems inappropriate.

I think we also lack the GR87's of the world now. They used to make community fun because everyone would laugh at them. Now, we don't have that guy who is just absolutely insane but entertaining. All those people are either banned or stopped coming here.

It's a very formal site, anymore. Less hanging out. I think we could balance that better.

I think we're done with Suggestions and Feedback threads. If you have a problem that needs fixing please use the Tech board.
