A karaoke-type track would be ideal. But auditions, in honor of the show, should be a cappella.

Themes are really where I think this game gets fun. So, yes, nearly every week will have a theme. And golly, are they going to be some good themes.

A shorter version (or part) of the song will be allowed. But If someone would want to record a full version, it certainly won't hurt.

It depends on the theme for original songs. Auditions, definitely. But I think, for most of the game, it will be hard to include them. If you are a song writer, though, that may come in handy for a side competition later on.

Here's an idea of what we have planned so far for the Hype! Idol Schedule.

MONDAYS
All content is due to the judges/hosts. This includes an uploaded, ready-to-listen file of your “performance” as well as other activities (this may include interviews, opinions, etc.)

TUESDAYS
The judges/hosts will post your “performance”, their assessments and all other content for the Hype! Community to experience. This will be the “show” thread. Immediately following the posting of this thread, all will be able to vote (for roughly 24 hours) for their favorite Idol contestant.

WEDNESDAYS
The results of the voting will be announced, as well as the contestant(s) who is/are eliminated. This will be the “results” thread. Immediately following the posting of the results, remaining contestants will receive the next week’s theme. This will be when the next round or week will start.

WED - MON
Contestants will be given these days to find their song, approve it with a judge/host, practice the song, record it and upload it into a ready-to-listen file as well as complete any other activities.
