Raiders is my favorite of the Indy movies. That is based on several factors. The time period it is set in is a favorite of mine. The action, which is stunt men and not CGI things, is thrilling. The characters are well rounded and interesting. And the various actors were great. I saw it in the theater the opening weekend of it's release. I am a big STAR WARS fan....and here was Han Solo having an earth bound adventure. A few months before it's release, I had watched Karen Allen in the TV mini series EAST OF EDEN, and was really enamored of her. The year before this came out, John Rhyse-Davies had a great part in one of my favorite books/mini series (SHOGUN). So it was full of people I had seen in great things very recently.
Seeing it was one of the "event" movies of my life. STAR WARS EPISODE IV, SUPERMAN THE MOVIE, THE LORD OF THE RINGS, THE AVENGERS.
