Hello fighters! Once again the World Warriors have suffered yet another humiliating defeat at the hands of the newbie tribe, The New Challengers. At some point it just has to get embarrassing for you, wouldn't you say? I mean, here you are, a tribe of some of the best and brightest to ever play the game...and you lose to a bunch of newbies...and TEDDY twice in a row. Ouch. :csad: Now the question is, can The New Challengers make it a hat trick?

Alas, your win was not without casualties. StorminNorman has followed. Norman has become a bit of an all-star of these games in recent years and almost single handedly won the first challenge for you, had your tribe not cock blocked him. Still, I suppose politics are always more important than strength in these games...and so his time in the game is the same as the game he hosted. Short and unsuccessful :csad:

...YOU BASTARDS! I LOVED HIM! I HOPE YOU ALL ROT IN HELL!......ahem...lets get to the rules.

The Rules:
Twenty six players. Thirteen new, thirteen old. One Survivor.

Each 'day' is marked by a new challenge. Days in this game can last anywhere from ten minutes to one week. Each tribe will receive team challenges (instructions for challenges will be explained for each challenge). Challenges can be anything from basic trivia, to various games, to photo editing competitions. Judgment and scoring of challenges will vary depending on the challenge and will be explained in the challenge PM. The tribe who wins the challenge will receive immunity. The tribe who loses the challenge will go to tribal council.

Tribal council is simple. Each player receives on vote, you vote out the person you want to remove from the game. Majority vote wins. Once you are voted out, you no longer play the game and for all intents and purposes lose. Ties at tribal council will be broken by special challenges.

At some point the tribes will be merged into one tribe. Only the hosts will know about this day until the time it actually happens. Once tribes merge, challenges will be played for individual immunity at tribal council. In other words, you’re on your own.

There may be additional twists and turns throughout the game, so do not get too cozy.

Hype! Survivor is a game of both strategy and deception. Alliances are both permitted, and encouraged. So find a friend, and sex their brains out. Masterminding and forethought are the keys to success. Laziness and ineffective play will both be penalized and exposed. Hosts have the right to intervene at any point in the game for the sake of keeping dead weight out. As a side note: alliances can be with any of the 26 players... doesn't matter who they are... doesn't matter what tribes they're on... just make sure it's someone you trust... or not. As the old saying goes: keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.

The final Jury will be composed of 7 people: everyone voted off from the remaining nine players who didn't make the finals. The Jury and only the Jury will vote FOR WHO THEY THINK SHOULD WIN of the final two remaining players to find the winner of the Hype! Survivor.

A note on cheating: It's very easy to cheat in this game. Very, very easy. Some of the rounds will be much more difficult to cheat at than others (some will be downright impossible to cheat on). Regardless, hosts have ways of catching you, and sometimes will even set up traps for you. If you feel you have to cheat in an internet game, by all means, go ahead... but if you're caught, you WILL be penalized. Again, specific rules of what's legal or not will be in each challenge PM.

This game will not support dead weight. If the host feels at any time that you are dead weight he reserves the right to boot you and replace you. Also, if your tribe feels that you are dead weight, they may petition me for your removal from the game and replacement with someone else at which point your case will be heard and it will be decided.. To remove a player from the tribe who you feel is dead weight, the captain of the tribe must petition me via PM. I will decide if this petition is valid, and if approved the tribe will vote and a majority vote will remove the dead weight player, even if you are not going to tribal council

This game will feature the return of Exile Island. The losing tribe has a player removed from their tribe from tribal council. The winning tribe picks who goes. This person is safe from tribal council but also forfeits his or her vote. They will also get a clue as to the location of the hidden immunity idol.

The immunity idol is hidden somewhere on the Hype. If you find it, it can be used in any tribal council prior to the revelation of votes. If you use it, you are safe from being voted out at that tribal council. Once it is used, the user loses it and it will be hidden somewhere else on the Hype. It can be used any time until the final five tribal council. Once you’re in the final four, it is dead.

These rules are subject to change at any time with absolutely no warning. They are more of guidelines for the game. Specific rules for each challenge will be issued via Challenge PM.

Assume everything is Eastern Time Zone.

Friday the 13th...a day filled with superstition and horror. This challenge will test your knowledge on a varient of that. So really the only question before we start is...what's your favorite scary movie? PMs will be sent shortly. Good luck!

You haven't crossed Norm out yet. :o

Don't hit me. :csad:

I'm sorry. I'll update it in a bit. All PMs are sent. You have 24 hours to get your answers in. Good luck!

Finally, a challenge I can actually contribute to

No! Not Norman! :csad:

I maintain that TEDDY is the most brilliant player in the history of Survivor. He signs up for every game and essentially says nothing more than "TEDDY," and "Have I won yet?". But I maintain this is all part of a bigger strategy. One day TEDDY is going to sign up for Survivor...and he is going to be the scheming mastermind who orchestrates every vote out in the game through a complex strategy filled with a series of alliances and no one will see it at all until the last day when he explains it to the jury in his closing argument in a speech so articulate it can only be described as Shakespearean. We will all marvel at his brilliance and declare him the greatest player to ever set foot in this game.
His Speech will make sweet, sweet love to the english language!

I like this game. I don't usually follow internet games but this one seems interesting.

ha ha survivor claims another one

man, horror is not my expertise :(

No! Not Norman! :csad:

His Speech will make sweet, sweet love to the english language!

He'll probably reveal that he's won every single Hype Survivor ever played and that he was the mastermind behind every victory letting other people take the credit.

i think kipobe already does that?

i think kipobe already does that?

TEDDY is kipobe's master. He only does what TEDDY tells him to do.

It's pretty obvious that it was TEDDY who manipulated the final vote that had him win Survivor beating me.

Hey everyone! I was picked as a guest judge a while back and was very excited to get to work. Unfortunately I have been preoccupied with the little matter of the GIGANTIC KILLER BUSHFIRES all around me over the last few weeks... Hell, the smoke is really bad today too, lucky I can still see my monitor!

I'm still alive and so is everyone I like to call friends and family.

I'm looking forward to trying to get up to date with the thread so far.

Happy Valentine's Day everybody... :yay:

Matt... my wife hates you... :o

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

The New Challengers have envoked the dead weight clause on Silverstein. Upon reviewing the case, I agree and have removed him from the game. As stated in the rules, he will be replaced. His replacement is...

ALEX THE GREAT! ALEX WILL BE GRANTED IMMUNITY FOR THIS DAY IN ORDER TO INTEGRATE HIMSELF INTO THE TRIBE! WELCOME ALEX TO THE GAME!

So he won't be voting, then?

Considering players were drafted, the dead weight clause is ********. That's like the Blazers telling the League that they ****ed up drafting Oden last year and the NBA giving them Kevin Durant under some bogus dead weight clause. You chose him, too bad.

THE RESULTS ARE IN!

The challenge was simple horror movie trivia. Questions had a different point amount based on their difficulty.

Here are the questions and the right answers.

1 point questions:

1) Out of the “big three” major slasher franchises, which has not been adapted into an NES video game?

A) Halloween
B) Nightmare on Elm Street
C) Friday the 13th

Answer: A, Halloween. Halloween's game was on Atari.

2) Nick Castle is credited for playing what famous killer in 1978?

Answer: THE SHAPE. Nick Castle was credited simply as playing "The Shape," in 1978's Halloween. The character was not listed as Michael Myers in the credits.

3) The famous Friday the 13th score is a play on what words?

Answer: KILLER MOMMY. I will also accept kill her mommy, kill mommy, or any varient of the words kill and mommy as the reports are mixed.

4) What Roger Corman B-Movie went on to inspire a quirky musical and a movie adaptation of the musical?

Answer: LITTLE SHOP OF HORROR.

5) The famous Michael Myers mask was in actuality what?

Answer: WILLIAM SHATNER.

3 point questions:

6) What horror movie was filmed in a small Tennessee town, with a budget of 375,000 dollars?

Answer: THE EVIL DEAD.

7) The above film has a prequel. True or false?

Answer: TRUE. Within the Woods was a short film made to sell investors on The Evil Dead and despite having very few connections in terms of plot, it is described by director/writer/creator Sam Raimi and porducer/star Bruce Campbell as a prequel.

8) The zombified version of Mrs.Voorhees returns in the Friday the 13 series. True or false?

Answer: TRUE. Mrs.Voorhees makes an appearance in zombified form at the end of Friday the 13th Part III albeit in a dream sequence.

9) On what two childhood memories did Wes Craven base A Nightmare On Elm Street?

Answer: A KID WHO BULLIED HIM AS A CHILD WAS NAMED FREDDY AND ALSO IN HIS ADOLESENCE HE ENCOUNTERED A HOMELESS MAN THAT SCARED HIM AND INSPIRED THE LOOK FOR FREDDY KRUEGER.

10) Who was the original choice for the monster in 1931’s Frankenstein but dropped out due to a lack of lines

Answer: BELA LUGOSI.

5 point questions:

11) It is documented that during the filming of The Exorcist, it began to snow…IN AN INDOOR SET: True or false?

Answer: TRUE. Several air conditioners were present on the set of Regan's making the temperature in the room negative 30 degrees resulting in the moisture in the air turning into a thin layer of snow.

12) What was the very first horror movie and in what year was it made?

Answer: Le Manoir de Diable, 1896

13) Who is the first victim of the killers in Scream?

Answer: MAUREEN PRESCOTT. Despite Casey's boyfriend Steve being the first on screen victim, Maureen is revealed to be their first kill chronologically.

14) How was King Kong’s roar made in the 1933 movie?

Answer: A TIGER AND A LION'S ROAR WAS COMBINED AND THEN PLAYED BACKWARDS

15) According to Ted, this B-Movie is the worst movie ever made

Answer: MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE. I am referencing Ted Mosby on How I Met Your Mother who believes Manos, not Plan 9 is the worst movie ever.

10 point questions:

16) Reporter: Is there any connection between the victims?
Detective: Yes, they’re all dead.

This quote is from what famous horror movie?

Answer: RAWHEAD REX.

17) What is the one Friday the 13th movie in which a car does not stall?

Answer: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN. Cars also do not stall in Jason X, but that is not titled Friday the 13th, same with Jason Goes to Hell and Freddy vs Jason.

18) Wes Craven’s first movie Last House on the Left is being remade and is scheduled for release in 2009. This movie was already remade. True or false?

Answer: FALSE. Though Chaos is practically the same exact movie, same plot, and essentially a remake, it was not approved by the studio or Craven and thus, not a remake.

19) What is Matt’s favorite horror movie (Hint: it has been stated on the Hype several times)?

Answer: THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. This can be found in my fifteen minutes thread.

20) What is my wife’s favorite horror movie (Hint: Ask the right former Survivor player from one of my past games and they may help you)?

Answer: FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES. This can be found by asking Hype Survivor: F*** City's second runner-up, Showtime.

Our team didn't get to 'draft' people though, JAL just dropped out.
