Hey Everyone,

My Brother is a film major and he shot his first movie last week and it's being entered in the School's film festival. It's also being enrolled in next year's "Student Academy Awards". HOWEVER, the movie will be re-shot, before next years awards. The reason being is that he only had 2 days to shoot, edit and sound mix the movie because of an equipment schedule conflict that was out of his hands.

So, this isn't the movie in it's entirety (it's only 6 minutes) and he had to sacrifice a LOT of the original script (which is up for best original screenplay for a short film).

Anyway, if you guys could check it out, rate it...leave a comment that would be SO damn awesome of you guy.

Not enought hot chicks..........come on.

It was pretty good. The Sound mix was fairly good, except the hospital scenes, dialouge was too hard to understand. Some of the Shots were strong, like the end with the eyes. I liked that. As you may know, the docs would have cut the T-Shirt to get better access to the wound, would have used a piece of plastic to fill the hole, just in case it was a lung shot. The blood under the shirt would has looked a little more realistic if they used chocolate sauce, especially with the lighting.

I don't know who jumped out the window though. I assume it was the doctor, I would have liked to see who that was, or have more charactor build-up before introducing him.

I was actually pretty impressed otherwise.

His next movie is about hot chicks...all hot chicks all the time...it's a documentary. I swear!

Super-powered-super-hot Lesbian hot chicks, even! :cwink:

I humbly offer my services on this film. I do not need payment.

Thanks for the comments Sube! He only had 45 minutes in the hospital room...busy hospital, last minute request/changes in dates...so we had to cut out the specifics (the script details 12-lead monitors, all that good stuff :)).

One of the problems he was having was the blasted boom mic, which was working in and out. It's one of the reasons he's being allowed to re-shoot.

As for the doc character exploration...that's all in the script, and will be in the re-shoots.

So, when Part Deux comes out, which I believe starts shooting in 3 weeks, hopefully all those things will be addressed.

I really appreciate your comments, Sube.

How old is the guy that directed it because that would explain alot, The film itself was okay but the cheesy piano themes really took away from it, they were more of a distraction and actually hindered the film. The editing also stuck out too it needed to be alot tighter, too many scenes just went on and on that could really have been cut down to give a little more character development that was really needed. As a director too he need's to be more demanding from his actors, get them to say there lines in every way imaginable, so he can pick and choose what he wants to use. His actors also when trying to get the guys heart going were totally unconvincing, they were doing nothing of the sort and it really showed (i understand they cannot do it for real, as they'd hurt the actor) This is where you use different camera angles, lighting, shadow, facial close up's.

The lighting was also a problem, there was no depth. The outdoor scenes were too dark and the indoor scenes looked like he just flipped a switch to put a standard bulb on. Lighting is a massive tool at a directors disposal. Every shot should look like a work of art, alas this did not. Finally the blood looked like he'd spilt fruit juice down his top not like he'd been shot.

A good effort and like i said it all depends on his age.

Btw, if that sounded like i was being ****ty i was not, just trying to be helpful.

I was going to say the same thing about the lighting. It's one of the biggest aspects of anything going on film. The indoor shots were too bland and makes it harder to watch. If you have a camera that has it's own iris control it can help but he should definately spring for some lights. Just tryin to help!
