Sequels Hypothetical: a Dazzler spin off

What Dazzler Easter Egg? And where?

Also, no to Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift. Especially Taylor Swift, otherwise she'll tower above everyone else, especially if you put her on roller skates. She'd be about 6'5" then.
Taylor isnt an actress so I wouldnt be to worried about. She's had a few minor guest roles, but they arent going to hire her to be supporting character in this major action franchise. She'd only be fit for a cameo, but do people really want Dazzler to just be that?

Can they even dance? IMO they don't have the full package compare to the big pop stars of 2000s like Britney, Beyonce, Kylie, Madonna, Shakira etc...
I dont see why that should matter. If and when they hire Dazzler, the person needs to act. They dont need to be of the same caliber as these stars you listed. They probably shouldnt even go for an established pop star

I'd say Julianne Hough would be a good pick for Dazzler. She's a singer, dancer and actress and looks like the character:

I don't know how well she can roller skate, but that's not a problem as actors who star in the musical Starlight Express have a skating coach to learn to roller skate for the show if they don't already know how.

I dont see why she would need to know how to rollerskate. Thats something for a stuntdouble, not that it would matter. There are things given to comic character's costumes for aesthetics that arent practical and thus dont translate onscreen. I think fighting in rollerskates is one of those, just like all the high heels many females are given. At most there might be an easter egg showing her in skates in one scene, but I wouldnt expect to se that as part of her actual combat look

She doesn't need to fight in roller skates. I was thinking of her singing and dancing in roller skates on stage.

I wouldn't want Dazzler to be just an action film. Just as Deadpool was different, there's a chance for Dazzler to be different too by making it a musical film.

Of course, she could have a chase scene in roller skates. That would be cool to see. How often do we get that?

And Julianne Hough can skate. I'm just wondering how well she can skate.

They might not want to go with her anyway, as they might prefer someone with a rockier voice. Her voice is a bit countryish.

A musical? I think thats one way to ensure its a flop.

Maika Munroe(It Follows,The Guest) for Dazzler she is only 22

I only said that just incase they were looking for an actual popstar since Taylor/Miley were brought up in the thread.

Personally I'd rather see an actress than a popstar or actress turned popstar for Dazzler.
Has Taylor Swift done any acting? I'm not a fan of her musically, but I could see the idea working depending on that fact - this is assuming we're talking about Dazzler being part of a team movie. My view is stunt casting will work better there. But, if we're talking a solo movie, hire a real actress.

She had a movie with Meryl Streep.

I really hope they record a Dazzler mixtape or album for the fans to promote her film appearance whenever it happens.

FoX needs to take advantage of all these female characters.

I so agree with that, I reckon it could easily take off. It wouldn't even need a huge budget I reckon

Beauty and the beast just made me want to see this more!

Joss Whedon should direct this! Alison Blaire is a fabulous popstar!

With the success of musicals like La La Land, I don't see why this movie couldn't do well as a musical too.

It would be unique as a comic book movie and since Alison is a pop star, would fit right into the plot. If they release an accompanying album, it could be a smash hit soundtrack. And if the songs are good, they could be chart toppers too. The film would promote the songs and the soundtrack, and the songs would promote the film. Add to it that it's a comic book movie too, and it could be very successful.

It would have to be a lot better than the Flash-Supergirl musical though, which I didn't think was done very well at all.

Honestly though, I'd rather see this popstar in a X-Men team movie with the X-Men, rather a solo feature film. I would be open for a music video though.

Well why can't they have both?

They can't even release a Gambit movie.personally speaking, the appeal of the X-Men is they are group of mutants and they are kinda taking it away by doing solo features. Sorry to say but Dazzler, Jubilee, Polaris, Psylocke, Sunfire aren't Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Ant-Man, Namor, Nova and Black Panther.

Doctor Strange wasn't even doctor strange before his movie. He wasn't so big at all. Neither was Ant man. Marvel turned c and d list heroes into A listers. We had no idea if they could carry a movie on their own or if there was enough material to sustain it.

Dazzler is different to those other X- men you mentioned as she was created as a solo heroine and had her own stories before she was ever incorporated into the X-Men. She wasn't like these other X-Men who were always part of a team and now Fix might want to spin them off into a solo. She is more like Strange or Ant-Man than the rest of your list.

She also has the whole musical aspect with plenty of cross promotion via soundtracks and
chart hits that can elevate her above the others.

I personally wish she were over at Disney/Marvel, separate from the X-Men like she was originally conceived so they could finally make the Dazzler movie they intended from the start, which was the very reason for which she was created in the first place.

Do you think bill conden would do another musical? Maybe this sort of movie needs something more poppy and modern though?

Carly Rae Jensen for Dazzler!

She doesn't look the part.

Even before the movies, except for Ant Man.. Properties like Doctor Strange, Black Panther has always been as solo properties than another Avengers member. Dazzler is usually associated with the X-Men.

I think it could be a mix of modern pop and classic disco era pop, kind of like how the musical Starlight Express mixes many musical genres from pop to rock 'n' roll to soul to disco to rap etc. That musical is also on skates, which is like Dazzler where she could show off her skating and dancing skills.

Not sure about Carly Rae for Dazzler. I do think it would be quite a physical change for her to look the part. I'd prefer someone who is already a more natural blonde who can then go strawberry blonde.

Ellie Goulding is a possible one, but I'm not sure about her and don't know if she's ever acted.

I suppose there are always actress/singers like Ashley Tisdale (but not sure she looks the part either) or Bridgit Mendler.

The thing is that they might want an actual pop star who can act rather than an actress who sings in order to sell records.

She doesn't look the part.

But the general public didn't know Ant-Man and they don't know Dazzler either, so they don't know whether she's associated with X-Men or not, so to them she could just as easily be a solo character. She's not who the general public think of immediately when you think of the X-Men either. And she was a solo character with her own comic before she ever joined X-Men.

It's kinda a hard sell. Because besides Deadpool and Wolverine, Fox has no other properties that they could launch a solo trilogy unless the character is already well developed through a couple of films and won over the hearts of the masses. Fox also has a poor track record. Marvel Studios could make a solo movie for Nova, Black Knight and Hercules and the masses would see it anyway since the character would probably show up in another MCU film or an Avengers film. With these X-Men films, the cross over to other properties isn't that transparent.

Anyway, even if Marvel has the rights, Dazzler would be utilized in a X-Men movie or a freeform show.

I don't think it's a hard sell. Hamilton, la la land, beauty and the beast. Musicals keep having hits but for some reason people keep thinking they're a hard sell

Yes it is. A musical superhero film? Yes. La La Land did well mostly because of the awards hype, had it been a bad or an average movie, it wouldn't earn that much.

WhileBeauty and the Beast is a film based on a popular animated fairy tale movie.

And just because Dazzler is a popstar, it doesn't mean her film would be a musical.

Heh, people make that argument every time they make a movie, saying that it only succeeded because of the most minute details.

Obviously no one knows if something will work til it does but there's enough evidence at the box office to see musicals are far from box office poison

And what makes you think Dazzler would be a musical film? Did her solo comics feature characters singing their thoughts?

And I didn't say musicals are box office poison. Mind you I love Hairspray, Mamma Mia! and Enchanted to name a few.
