"I don't watch tv"

people who say they don't watch tv are the same people that say they don't masterbate.

Exactly

The only times I've watched TV here at school were when the Patriots were on. Otherwise, going to the lounge for a show just isn't worth it. E.R.'s the only show I even bother to catch up on when I'm home, since most of my old shows ended and I never got into the new ones. So, yeah.

My TV is usually on 24/7 (well, it used to be until I've recently decided to change my lifestyle and turn off electrical appliances when not in use), and I flip between TBS and the Comedy Network. Once I fell asleep and woke up to Sex and the City, been watching it casually since. :(

The only shows I actually tune in on purpose to watch though are 24, and LOST.

I just read the Parade magazine that usually comes in Sunday papers earlier and they had an interview with Mischa Barton of O.C. fame, and lo and behold, they asked her what one of her favorite shows is, and she says, "I don't watch television." It's like clockwork.

Is she the one who was being unprofessional and breaking the shooting schedule's balls? Because she didn't want to get type cast or something? And now she's being killed off?

I confess I don't watch a lot of it, but I do channel surf on occasion, but I hate when people use the phrase, "I don't watch tv." It just comes off as very smug and hipper than thou. Granted, there's not a huge amount of great shows on the air, but everyone flips around on occasion out of sheer curiosity. I hear it mostly in interviews from celebrities, most of which are stars of tv shows, so it seems somewhat contradictory that they don't even enjoy their own medium. I was out with a couple people the other night and some dude said that to me after I mentioned I was checking out the Sopranos earlier in the week and he was like, "oh, I don't watch tv."

Well that's just your viewpoint but there are those of us who don't watch T.V., who actually hate t.v. and flip channels for a few minutes after watching a tape and feeling docile, maybe once every two weeks. Sorry but, it happens. Not everyone has to like it.

And maybe some of those celebs are too busy to watch t.v. anyway. I know many college students are too busy to watch t.v. (the ones who think it's better to spend time on a medium where information comes easier and more unbiased).

Ridiculous comparison, far more people *********e than watch t.v., and even more people eat by comparison.

I hear what you mean, but for instance, I don't drink, but I have never acted smug or self righteous about it towards other people, which is what this dude was doing the other night, like I was some ****ing idiot because I watch the tube.

Well I think that sort of goes along with this: http://superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231770

Well I know that 100 percent of all people nourish themselves. I've heard polls show that at least 80-90 percent of men admist to *********ing and 60 percent of women or something. Apparently it's a touchy subject, since so many people have hang ups about it, but for those who admit it, those numbers are still higher than the amount of americans who watch T.V. regularly.

I don't watch much network tv, but I am addicted to the Discovery/History/Biography/Science channel block. Gimme aliens, ghosts, myth busting, and serial killers over reality shows and teen soap operas anyday.

House, Bones and Smallville are the only real exceptions

Sounds like my household. We also watcch a lot of movies on Showtime/HBO/Etc., and a lot of the DIY and Home & Garden channels (which is dangerous because then we start tearing up floors and walls and doing remodelling stuff). The Daily Show and the Colbert Report are about the only thing we watch with any regularity, though. I haven't watched network TV in I don't know when.
