I Feel So Bad for Taylor Kitsch

So I'm watching John Carter really quick and this thought dawned on me. It just sucks for Taylor Kitsch. He was apart of an acclaimed series that got less viewership than it deserved and NBC kept trying to piss away (Friday Night Lights). He starred in 2 blockbusters this year (Battleship and John Carter) that underperformed. His third film this year, Savages, didn't even break even. He's got the acting chops. He's got the looks. Something just isn't clicking for that man. Random, I know.

Battleship was pretty bad. It's not even bad in a fun way. Just tedious, overly long, surpringly borderlining racist, and just lame. At least five me some cool aliens..and no. Theyre awful looking. Cool suits though.

His career is already better than 99% of actors in hollywood. I understand wanting an actor you dig to succeed but there is no reason to feel sorry for him. He will get more roles in blockbusters because hollywood never gives up on trying to make actors they like stars, just ask Colin Ferrell.

Oh it was. I remember being crushingly disappointed at the midnight show, and haven't re-watched it since. But Kitsch was one of the few highlights in that film, and sorely underused. He was a cool Gambit.

Anyone doubtful of Clive Owen's ability needs to watch "Closer" again. He should've won the Oscar for that.

He probably just needs to make friends with a good director. Leo Dicaprio's career wasn't that great than Scorcese thought he was cool then suddenly everyone thinks he's cool.

John Carter wasn't awful. It was just a niche story that never found an audience, and it gained notoriety for a needlessly bloated budget that sank the ship before it even went to sea. Conan the Barbarian meets Jules Verne just didn't sparkle with today's audiences.

As for the Taylor Kitsch curse: I'll also point out that Mark Strong was in JC, too. I love Mark Strong, but can't say much for his luck with casting lately.

Taylor Kitsch was never in anything as good as Children of Men so the Clive Owen comparison doesn't jive with me.

I have no sympathy for him, he knew what kind of movies those were and the risk if they failed. Im no genius nor do I pretend to be one but if Im reading scripts for battleship and john carter Im passing, despite of needing the money or not.

In Bruges is great. Though the majority of that credit I award to Martin McDonagh, who is a genius at dark comedy.
