I HATE being 15!

It's easier to attack the source. S**ty parenting is always second.

Meh, my parents are cool.....the majority of my games are Teen or Mature so, yay for that

my parent no better than to mess with me.

parental control on tv is for religious parents.

I'm 21 and since I live in Canada I've been able to do whatever I want for 2years now. Pron and M+ video games are 18, and Beer is 19 :D The annoying thing is I get carded almost everytime I go to buy anything :P

But back to what the TC was saying earlier, My parents just kept me off the really 'bad' games until they felt I was mature enough to handle it (ex - I bought/watched what I wanted when I wanted :D) I was watching Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies when I was 12, and playing GTA 3 when I was 14 or 15. My parents knew that I wasn't one who would run around with a baseball bat smacking people around or shooting up places because I felt like it. If they think you'll do that just have an adult discussion with them, explaining that it's just a game and is no way impresssionable upon you. Remember to leave out words like, *****, ****, and most of all *******, and they should see it your way. (if not then take a chainsaw to them jk :D)

i was allowed to watch R rated movies since i was born.

my dad watched porn in front of me.

as long as im the one buying the M rated games its mine.

lol

YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES IT PAYS TO PROOFREAD, BEFORE YOU HIT "SUBMIT". :O

Um...I'm sorry.
I don't know what I did wrong. I just mentioned my dad. My mom saw it, too.

Dude, talk to your mom. I'm sure you haven't shown any signs of being a homocidial maniac who rapes women and pillages old folks' homes. Explain to her that you're plenty mature, and that had she not asked, she'd have never been none the wiser, proving that you are a well-adjusted, mature teenager.

Does she let you watch "R" movies? If so, you've got some leverage. "M" games rarely have more than most "R" movies, so it should be fine to allow you to play, even if it's with Adult Supervision. But BE CAREFUL! If you play this card, there's a chance you could also lose your "R" movie priveledges, too.

Man, I'm so glad my parents didn't give a damn what I played when I was younger.

I'm 22 and sometimes I get carded for buying a M rated game or trying to go see an R rated movie.

I have never once been carded when purchasing an M rated game.....nor have I seen anyone be carded for the same thing. Good ol' Canada

Yeah, I've spent my time slowly breaking her down...

Hopefully she'll crack soon

You still can't buy M games. I've been able to for over a month:)

I always do though.:up: My EB Games doesn't seem to give a ****, lol.

Mine didn't either. Although the first time I bought an M game myself my 17th birthday was in a month.

The only time I almost got carded was buying The Punisher at Toys R Us. But the clerk was cool and let it slide.

I have been buying alcohol since I was 15, so needless to say, I do not have that problem.

you know, I used to use the "I wont do any of that stuff in the game" thing...but they stopped believing it after the 2nd time I boned and killed a hooker :(

My story is one of woe.

...my Mum just comes into my room and goes "...have you been playing Grand Theft Auto" and I knew I was screwed.

A few weeks ago, one of those crappy "parent" chat shows featured GTA: San Andreas as an article about under age kids playing it. They kept saying "Yes you sleep with prostitues and them kill them to get your money back"

Mums were crying while watching game footage oh the game their sons were playing (drama queen ****s)

So since then my Mum has been on strict watching over games duty (meaning I've been restricted to playing games like "Crash Bandicoot") I went on GTA (III) last night with the folks in bed, was stupid enough to not put it all away, she found it just now.

So near the end of the game, not allowed to play in anymore, very pissed off...

Stupid childish rant over. :(
That's funny. I remember my 12 yr old cousin came over once, and he brought his GTA and he and my brother started playing it.

I walked past them, and they just happened to be sniping people at a rock concert.

I was like "no way, you guys aren't playing that anymore," and then I took the game from them and hid it so they couldn't play for the rest of his visit. lol.

I played Resident Evil and tried to eat my friend :(

Well, I played Princess Peach, and ran around town in a pink dress crying on flowers trying to save my plumber boyfriend with an addiction to shrooms.

Not I. I guess that's why I was so surprised the first time I played God of War.

I'm 22 now so I don't have any problems, but my mom didn't really care what I did when I was younger anyway. The best way to make your parents quit hassling you? Be a completely introverted, borderline cry-for-help suicidal loser for a couple of years. I managed to convince my mom I had no friends whatsoever, so in high school I got to go out without a curfew because she was just happy I had some kind of social life. :)

Lucky jerk, I get asked for I.D for almost everything. Did you have a beard back then too?

I played Max Payne and walked in slow motion for a week :(
