I have an irrational fear of Greys....anyone else have the same fear?

Why'd you even make it?

Because I wanted to know how many people have this phobia. :o

(Excuse the crap drawing. I just did this quickly.)

LAWL. :awesome:

Like, just Greys or what?

Do Xenomorphs scare you? The things from War Of The World? The things from Signs?

Just Greys. I love Aliens(Xenos). I have watched those movies since I was a little kid. They never bothered me.

But Greys do. Signs as well. They were big ol Greys...but still Greys.

Something about those eyes.

It's not an owl...it's not an owl!!

Aliens kind of freak me out as well. For me it's the whole abduction thing, if they want to take you there's nothing you can really do about it.

I watched a marathon of abduction shows on The Space Channel one day when I was about 7, scared the **** out of me. Then I had nightmares where they had tied me down and operated on me. I got over that fear after a year. Then I watched that damn Fourth Kind trailer I couldn't sleep that night.

No, but I do have a similar fear in that, for some reason, I'm terrified of fish and water. The only beaches I'll go to are the ones that are completely clear.

I actually quit playing Shadow of the Colossus for an entire year because, to fight one of the Colossi, you had to swim on the surface of deep water (where you could see no bottom- strike one), and the Colossi was a giant shadow moving around under the water's surface (strike 2, 3, and 4). I was cussing up a storm when I decided to try the game again and play that level.

Everyone laughs at me for it, because I'm not the type that gets scared or jumps from movies, or people jumping out at me. But you get me playing Echo the Dolphin, forget it. Game over. :o

how do you feel about SeaMan?

I use to always want them to come take me to another planet to live. I still would go in an instant; so I guess I don't fear them. :D

They'll take you, stick needles in yer wee wee, then shove a big ol rod up your pooer.

Greys are such a fun lovng species.

Sounds like a Marilyn Manson concert I went to.

I bet they bend in the most fantastic kinda ways.

Also, that's a good way to get over your fears. Think about what it would be like to f**k it. Though, Group sex with a rat king may be too disturbing, even for me. :o

I was terrified of them as a kid. Too many X-Files episodes. I was completely convinced they were coming for me. It's not really an issue for me anymore, but I still really do not want to go see that movie.

And Gilpesh- phobia level fear is by definition irrational. So it doesn't make any difference whether the object of the phobia is rational or not, because the phobia is already outside the realm of rationality. Which would be why it's classified as a disorder. A person with a phobia often knows logically that the fear is misplaced or inappropriately intense, but that does nothing to mitigate it. The brain is stuck in 'what if' mode, and the infinitely miniscule probability that the fear could actually become reality is enough to cause a high level of anxiety or panic at any given time.

I thought you meant "Greys" as in Grey's Anatomy.

In which case, I'd have to agree. :csad:

I'd watch that show if it involved Greys.

I thought the thread title said "Gheys" and I was preparing myself for a good laugh...

how disappoint.
