Let's hear them singing that same tune five days into the hunger strike. Seriously, this is NOT going to last. Do these idiots even know what happens when a person doesn't eat for days? They WILL break. Their bodies WILL give in to the pain.

This is pointless. Congress won't give into this.

It occurs to me that they might actually starve to death, because when you see pictures of Lindsay Lohan or Nicole Richie starving themselves for no reason, that this might actually give them a reason.

So when a guy tries to see how much kerosene he can drink, and I call it "stupid", I'm incorrect. it's really just that we have differing opinions on the advisability of drinking kerosene.

Especially since from what I understand...It's a "rolling fast". I.E. one person fasts for 12 hours then they "pass" it to another who doesn't eat for 12 hours, meanwhile the original faster can eat...sheesh.

I think they are stupid to believe that their positions as A-list actors is supposed to mean something to me and that the fact that they are willing to go on a weeklong fast (actors have typically never really been famous for real commitment) is supposed to change my position on a subject or that Americans really care about them.

I don't get the impression that they feel that way at all, as they're amongst a larger group of protesters. what I do think they are doing is taking advantage of the fact that their celebrity status grants them a better opportunity to have their views heard.

They don't really care about being heard as much as being seen in newspapers, televisions, and gossip rags. If those things didn't exist, they wouldn't be doing this. It's a source of nourishment to them.

I don't wish anybody to die, but somethings are avoidable if you starve yourself long enough. I was in fact wishing them great success in their new endeavor of the week.

It's been a couple of weeks since anybody posted in this thread and it's all been quiet on the state on Sean Penn's and Susan Sarandon's state of health and it leaves me greatly concerned because of the lack of news, so I really have to ask this question.

Are they dead yet?

Probably because nobody cares. Penn and Sarandon know that their careers are already starting to fade and before too long, they'll be gone altogether, so they're depserately staging this attempt to get more attention and save their careers.
