I hate it in comic book franchises when they change the score from movie to movie. IMO theres nothing better when you go to see a sequel at the cinema and that familiar music comes on at the start. I missed that throughout the Blade and X-Men franchises and hope this franchise doesnt go the same way.

Anyone else the same?

Well, the animated movie Sword of Storms had Marco Beltrami's score in it, so I'm pretty confident that the next movie will keep it too.

It's pretty dec

its a good animated movie, I would have been a little disapointed if that would have been the regular movie, but for an animated hour long movie, it was solid

yeah the Score is the same, I would assume they keep it

I agree that changing the score for a any film series not just comic book movies irk me like you wouldn't believe. I remember when i saw the trailer for RoboCop 2 in the theater and hearing the great music from the first film, then i saw the movie later that year. I don't know WHAT that was, but it was so bad it ALMOST ruined the movie for me. As BAD as the PG 13 part 3 was, at LEAST they brought back the guy who did the music for part 1, to me that was probably the only redeeming factor in that craptacular film :oldrazz: .

I have heard straight from Marco Beltrami that he will not be back for scoring Hellboy 2 and that Danny Elfman will be replacing him. He has a few other projects on his plate and won't be able to return. I was very disappointed when he told me this because I absolutely loved his original score (drove my husband nuts when I was learning how to play Father's Funeral by ear). I hope that Danny Elfman, I composer that I greatly admire, will be able to keep with the same mood of the original.

It is indeed a great shame that Marco Beltrami won't be returning - his score was superb, and suited HELLBOY beautifully. Much as I admire Elfman, I would have loved to have seen the talented Christopher Drake do the score. He wrote the music for both HELLBOY ANIMATED movies, creating his own 'take' on HB, but also incorporating Beltrami's title music from the original film. I would have been thrilled to see what he could have done with a fully orchestrated score, as I LOVED his music for HB ANIMATED: BLOOD AND IRON. That, and the fact that he's a helluva nice fellow and deserves the chance ;)

I REALLY want the score from the first movie. Mainly the main theme. I've yet to get the CD.

I do hope they keep it.

I loved the first movie's music but I have faith that Elfman can give us the goods.

^Well the main theme from the first movie is being kept, so i am happy about that.

HB has great music. Who is the composer?

EDIT: nevermind, just read it in one of the above posts.

Anyway, Elfman is a great composer too. One of the best actually.
