Just saw Fantastic four 2. Thought it was great. Really enjoyed it. But I was thinking. The style. The story lines etc would make a great television series. Fantastic Four should become MARVEL's new Television series. Its got humor, action, drama and could be accomplished on television.

I think he means live action, not cartoon.

Oh, if that's the case I don't think it would be possible because of the expensive special effects.

i think it may be a good idea

sorry guys, geoge lucus in his prime would have hav nailed this, the mind reals just thinking about his take on surfer, doom and galactus

The sfx would be so expensive, the show would have to pull in huge ratings numbers to make the money back in advertising. Execs would be watching the ratings like a hawk.

But I can see why someone would think this.

I think it could be done. They'd have to be very smart about it, but it's possible. You're obviously not going to get the quality of effects from the movies but it's definitely possible.

Only Reed and Johnny would have the expensive effects. They've been doing invisible man/woman stuff for ages on TV, and with the Thing already being in a rubber suit for the movies, no reason they couldn't continue. Heck, even in the Roger Corman low budget FF, the Thing looked pretty good.

The most expensive thing on a TV show is building the sets, well if you have a fixed Baxter Building set, that will be used over and over, you can really lower your production cost.

You also have to have a talented group of writers, that can throw in the occasional script that doesn't have alot of effects, but can still deliver.

It would have to be recast for a portion of the cast....

You couldn't do it on a week to week basis. No way. Too many special effects, too costly, too time consuming, the audience would not be that great. Good idea, but not fesible on a weekly basis.

You jest ?

Tell me your kidding ?

The Thing looks disgusting and makes me sick in that movie.

Back on topic. If they could feasibly create live action tv shows like this and on a top notch production value, I'd actually prefer more live action comic book shows than movies. And once I think about it, George Lucas is created a live action Star Wars show, so it certainly wouldn't be impossible.

Heroes does some amazing effects and that has a TV BUDGET and so Fantastic four could do it.

I love Heroes but it doesn't have anywhere near the effects and cgi that the F4 have......doesn't even come close....

Well,

If we're talking TV show scenario, I'd love to see them reboot the whole thing, do it in the a 60's retro style but do it the way Sky Captain was done. Such limitless possibilities to that process. The lighting, the sets, other worlds that could be visited. I loved the retro look that Incredibles had.

If we want to get down to it...I'd love the see Batman done in a 40's retro future world.

Ok my point is this...........

Heroes does a number of quality effects and its a TV show. Tv budget. So FF could be done similar. No real costs are Johnny storm, his flame on. Well to accomodate for a TV budget you could alter him in one a couple of ways (not to anger the true FF fans)

1. Most of the show only his hands flame on. But perhaps once an episode he could totally flame on. this would cut costs.

2. Perphaps his flame on shots could only be while in flight. So if he is grounded he only shoots fire from hands and looks normal. But in flight he is totally flamed on. With cheap cgi and 3D graphics this could be accomplished.

3. He could have a new costume. Not a great idea, but it could be Something that would contain his fire so all we see is his head and hands in the flame on state not the entire body. Surely costs would come down.

you EFFECTS ideas list them below
