Did anyone else here go through this phase in their adolescence where they rejected anything they saw as "for kids"? And then later on you realised being grown sucks, and you start re-discovering your childhood? Like me for example, I've recently started watching cartoons again(I love Boomerang).

I'm stuck in that place right now. And I wish someone kicked me in the ass when I was way younger. The world was so open, and I was too eager, and I went and looked at it all and realized it was small, and I should have enjoyed the ignorance, but now I'm approaching adulthood and I don't want it. :cmad:

To be honest, although we may have our own responsibilities as we grow up and we can not enjoy ourselves or have as much free time or space, you can still enjoy the things that you love.

Besides growing up is probably better than remaining a child. There are bad times in life but the older the get, the more knowledge you obtain and the more you start to get out of life.

Hopefully anyway. Enjoy life while you can.

Get off this f**king forum and do something worth while.

Damn pesky kid. :cmad:

i never went through the hating-things-that-are-for-kids phase...ever, i always liked them and hopefuly i always will, because if not, i'll string myself up to the ceiling :(

ETM misses being a kid too. ETM loved eating teh ice cream and other crap sugar infested food. Now ETM is trying to get in better shape....though he isn't overweight...just put on muscle and stuff.

The only thing i miss truely are holidays that break you get at summer, oh how i wished i had taken those in more they were brilliant!

Being a child sucked. You can't go or do as you please. You need permission to do everything. You're constantly supervised. It sucked.

I'm kind of dealing with that right now. I'll be 20 in October and I'm about to finish my second year of college. I really need to start focusing on my career goals and all that jazz. Yet I just want to be a kid again with no worries and watch Batman all the day long.:csad:

My mom was the same way, but my dad was different.
he was never around except for maybe once a week at most and he'd come and be like "oh gee whiz mcgee, that kid should be let out more" but my mom would say no and then they'd figth over it. Not a good out come which way or.

But uh, there are some aspects I really do miss about being a kid.
That newness of everything, how simple everything seemed back then.
But of course I don't like revisiting things back then because I find it's painfull.

this thread reminds me about the 27yr old pedo who convinced a school he was a 12 year old, then spent half a term going to classes....

I miss being able to play with action figures.

I mean, I try to, but it just isn't the same.

Being a kid is something that I'd love to do again, while keeping my consciousness of today.

I miss being able to play with action figures.

I mean, I try to know, but it just isn't the same.

Yeah, what's the deal with that? I tried once a few months ago but it made me feel exhausted.

Where did that know come from?

Yes and no.
I was taking care of my sister when I was about 4,so I kind of never shook the being responsible bit.
There was a brief moment in HS I was getting a little too snotty and look down on my future boyfriend for playing with toys*I secretly wanted to get down on the ground and play with them*.
Now people look at you all sidewise for wanting to play with trains, radio controlled toys and such. :cmad: What's the problem?

Great googly moogly most of you still are kids.

Come back here when you are on your own, have like a "job" and have to worry about grown up stuff.

Yes I still feel nostalgic when I pop in my Voltron, Robotech dvds. :o

Yeah, with college and work I'm sort of drained half the time.
I miss having virtually no responsibility.

On the other hand, I'll be 21 so bring on the booze.

I miss not having to deal with core essays and where difficult decisions would amount to figuring out whether or not to play with my Ninja Turtle toys or my Power Ranger ones. But at the same time, there's so much good **** I do now that I couldn't or wasn't able to do as a kid.

And I don't just mean sexually. :cmad:

Yes ,but would like to keep my wisdom I have now.....

I like to think I'm a big kid at heart. I'm still doing a lot of things I did when I was a kid -- like collecting action figures, collecting comics, listening to bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Pantera -- and having a good time with it.
