I of All People Hate to Say This But...

I'm pretty sick of JJJ in any capacity. I know that this is mostly a humorous book, but him acting like a damned supervillain crossed the line pretty cleanly from "frivolous slapstick" into "over-the-top ridiculousness."

Yeah. Writers tend to take JJ a bit too far. He's supposed to be an eccentric *******, not a master criminal.

i still think JJ shoud die

Because he's named "Mr. Walters"? As in, he wishes he were married to She-Hulk, a.k.a. Jennifer Walters? And here he is, talking smack about her book? Is any of this getting through to you?

Nice. I kinda thought between my name and my tons of pro She-Hulk statements, oh and my avatar and signature that this was all self explainatotry. Nice to see someone put it all together. :)

I never even seen you before you made this thread.

/\ Yeah, it seems I see new people everyday and then find out they have been members for a million years. Lots of folks here.

Anyway, I guess I am alone. I thought volume 1 was supurb but this one is just so so. I agree, Pug needs to make his movie. Why the hell did Ditto have to ruin it for him? I was reading it like "alright, now the story is going in the direction it needs to!" But it wasn't real. I'm sure the book will pull out of this rut soon, and I agree, John Jameson needs to go.

Yeah I mean, it's not as if there hasn't been precedent for it -- Spider Slayers, anyone? -- but sending a giant robot to kill his daughter-in-law?? Seriously, what?

I don't understand why JJJ even dislikes She-Hulk in the first place. If Dan Slott explained this in the issue then forgive me, but I thought he only had a mad-on against masked vigilantes. She's been an unmasked public persona for years and years, a high-profile lawyer, and is in very vocal support of the same registration act that he is in favor of. What exactly was the problem again?

Lately, I mean before the SHRA its been made to seem like he doesnt like most heroes, masked or unmasked.

I don't know what you're talking about, man. I love this series and She-Hulk #9 was a really fun issue.

JJJ doesn't like ANY superhero

If he doesn't then he's an even bigger hypocrite than anyone ever accused him of being. The only logical reason he's given for his irrational hatred of superheroes is that they hold themselves above the law. Well, She-Hulk doesn't. In fact, she's a direct enforcer of the law by occupation.

Yes, writer Dan Slott does set up the reasons for JJJ's over the top reaction in the issue itself. JJJ is having an extremely bad day that he believes is being caused entirely by superheroes and lawyers. So when his own son suddenly marries a superhero lawyer, Jonah just totally loses it.

Which unfortunately just reinforces my impression of Jonah as a stock character with no redeemable qualities. I mean, if all it took was a breakdown to turn someone into a rampaging robot murderer, there should be billions of rampaging robot murderers all over the Marvel U. And there are only a couple thousand:p.

Well the thing is, his breakdown is directed at one thing, the superhero community, and what better way to snap then to go get an old Spider-Slayer and start going at it.

In the real world we have people who commandeer bulldozers and attack city hall because of zoning violations, or that dude who stole a tank. It happens.
