I smell death... and it ain't good

I still say honestly.. that i liked sins past.. i know im pretty much the only one, but gwens always been the high on a pedistal "good girl" way too good to even be real. Plus i still believe in "inocent till proven guilty" and believe she was drugged and raped... she just didn't know she was drugged, and blamed herself with the guilt of the act she thought she did. Harboring a pregnancy secret... and dying with this secret... imo made her far more of an interesting character then she's ever been... but i do understand why alot of people don't like it..

Actually, I kind of wish JMS had used Peter's supporting cast more. And by "supporting cast" I mean more than just MJ and May. Oh, that's right, there wasn't anyone other than MJ and May for about forever in ASM. I understand that he tightened the focus onto them to work on them, and that's what he should've done at first, but then he never really expanded Peter's cast or brought anyone back for Peter to play off of. Peter's little microcosm felt very Spartan under JMS to me. The focus was always on Peter or MJ and/or May playing off of Peter. He built May up for an arc or two after learning about Peter's secret and it was great, don't get me wrong; but then he kind of dropped her altogether. Can anyone really recall her doing much between learning of Peter's identity and the shooting? I can't. JMS also just kind of forgot about Peter's job as a teacher, which could've been a great source of character building for Peter. Frankly, I like most of JMS' ideas, but I don't think he really follows through on them.

That's pretty much the only thing FNSM is good for. My PAD love is waning on that title though.:csad:

I loved Sins past. I've said it before. I Understand why it miffed people off, but that doesn't change the fact that I liked it very much.

you will find very few spider-man fans who like the complete destruction of a classic character comicboy. Its like if they did a Batman story, where it is revealed Martha and Thomas wayne were secretly powerful crime lords in Gotham, and that Joe chill was sent to kill them, by rival mob bosses, instead of it being a random event.

I'd read that if it was an elseowrlds.

I would read it to if it were elseworlds, but if it were meant as a in continuity story, it would cause massive uproar. sins of the past would of been recieved much different if it were elseworlds I think.

Amen, for the record sins past had a lotta potential, it just went screwy.

sins past was a badly written story too though.

It had some potential (the idea of mj keeping a secret like that for that long is interesting) but it just didn't work.

THe thing is, I know there are few people who like it. That's what what's it all the better. In a weird way, It helped me like Gwen more as a character. It's makes her story, for me, more dramatic.

Hence why books like Jeff Parker's SPIDER-MAN/FANTASTIC FOUR are here. ;) No worries about death, just a fun team-up to fight some aliens. There's also SPIDER-GIRL and SPIDER-MAN LOVES MARY JANE, but they're too girly for me.
There's NOTHING girly about about Spider-man loves Mary Jane. :cmad:

Yes, I've said it before, JMS could've been the best Spider-Man writer since Stan Lee if he just had an editor that stood up to him. No one writes Peter and his supporting cast better. No one. It's a fact.

Nah. Its still my opinion that Defaulco is still the best Spider-man writer ever. IMO, he had the best run in ASM and is currently giving us more gold in the Spider-girl comic.

...Reading spider-girl, wait, reading The Amazing Spider-Girl was a hard thing to do. I read the first 3 issues, and it was pure Hell, I had 4-7, but couldn't even force myself to read it. I didn't care for any of the characters. I didn't like the art.

I wouldn't expect everyone to like it. Different Strokes and all that. But thats just my opinion.

At least you have the good grace to be embarrassed rather than righteously indignant about it. And also, y'know, the ovaries.
