The trailer sparked an idea... have Logan dig out his old X-Men costume and wear it in the final scene. Thus, inspiring X-23 and proving that maybe all those stories she read weren't so false after all!!!!!!!! Whatever sacrifice he makes will be highlighted by what he once was and what he hopes she can be.

I would love to see the costume too but the tone of this film isnt giving off the vibes its happening this time.

This isn't the 616 universe of the X movies. So it's unlikely. Weird we never saw Logan in a superhero costume in his own damn movies. Its always the everyday clothes.

I'm willing to bet we will see the costume. When Hugh asked the fans what they want to see more than anything else in his final movie, the costume was overwhelmingly number 1.

Save it for the new Wolverine actor

Exactly. Jackman is so synonymous with the role that the easiest way to transition to a new actor will be to cover his face with a faithful costume.

As much as I've hoped to see it in other movies, I think it'd be really really tough to adapt and make it 'fit' in this movie, from what we've seen in the trailers.

I don't see it happening, sadly. Maybe Magold could have a flashback where he's in the cut costume from The Wolverine, but I think the comic book may be the closest thing to it. If it's not appropriate for the movie then it's arguably better that it doesn't appear. Though if so I'd rather the comic didn't feature also since it feels like a slap in the face.

I posted this in a different thread, but I think it's worth repeating.

Regarding Wolverines costume, I think there's 2 way they could introduce it without it feeling corny.

1) Wolverine has a brief flashback to the glory days of his colorful costume escapades. Like literally a 2-3 second flash of him posing, then another one of him attacking something.

2) X23 can have a dream sequence where she imagines a "fantasized" version of Wolverine where he goes full 90's with the classic costume and dialogue. It won't feel too out of place if it's a dream, and it will stay in context with the character, as she's already a X-men fan girl.

I really started to fall in love with the X23 dream idea. They could go full 90's with it, and just have her wake up in to the grim reality of the Logan movie. Doesn't have to be a long drawn out jarring scene. 30 seconds of action and comic book dialogue would be enough to please fans.

You know how the suit would work in a "grounded" verse? Desert camo. Just saying.

Interesting. When I hear that, it makes me think that there going to do something with the costume.

Even a fun post credits scene with Hugh in full costume smoking a cigar while leaning in a rusted sentinel head.

Throw it in mid credits. It won't effect the tone of the movie if they drop it in after the film is finished.

Mangold said Watchmen was an inspiration for him so i could see a flash back with Logan in costume but chance are slim.

But XA, Deadpool and comics in Logan are a proof that New DOFP timeline is more mutant friendly and colorful.

So i can see Logan in costume for a cameo in X-Force, Deadpool 2 or Deadpool/Wolverine movie.

I still think they could do the costume in this film but it would have to be very toned down. By that i mean the yellow wouldnt be very bright. Almost a golden colour to show the suit has been worn out and used for a while. Not sure you would implement the mask though. That would be the trickiest part because it IS such a jump tonally.

I could see him having some type of dream/nightmare sparked from seeing the girl's comic books of a past battle that didn't end well with a lot of his fellow X-Men dying around him (going back to his comment of saying in the real world people die).

I think we might see it, bit of a long shot, but I'd vote yes.

I have a feeling with the grounded approach the movie is taking they won't have him put in a superhero outfit.

Looks like a combination of these two at the moment.

Colossus costume looks pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing him in that for Deadpool 2.

Also if Ryan ever convinces Hugh to do Deadpool/Wolverine then I would hope he at least has the costume there.

Just thought I'd come here to update, it's been confirmed...

no costume. Although there's always the post credits scene!

Just read Mangold's thoughts on not liking the idea of a costume in a movie. My thoughts are why the bs of the extended cut/deleted scene of The Wolverine? Why the bs of the comicbook in Logan? I'm not angry with Mangold or the movies, but I really don't appreciate red herrings for a concept you have no interest in.

I think our only hope is that the next guy who gets cast can finally put on the costume or maybe Hugh can if he is persuaded to do that Deadpool/Wolverine film Ryan wants (slim as the chances for the latter may be).

I think it could have worked if Logan wore his X-Force outfit.
