I am actually pretty interested in checking this out. Rock writes good stuff when he wants to, even though his acting isn't always up to par. And I envy his ass in this poster, sandwiched between Gina Torres and Kerry Washington...some bastards get all the luck. :o

I've never found Chris Rock funny, but I respect the title.

Is the title supposed to be positive, i.e., "Actually, you know what, I think I love my wife" or negative as in, "I should definetly love my wife.....i don't know though, I think I love her..."

Chris Rock is very funny......... as a stand up comic.

in the movies =

That's so true of so many comedians turned actors though. Chris Rock, Eddie Murphy, Richard Pryor, Robin Williams - they're all infinetly funnier on stage (Robin Williams is so quick-witted it could qualify as a super power). For a start, they're not doing their own material in their own movies. And second, especially true in the case of Chris Rock, Hollywood tries to tone them dowm, take away their edge, and almost make them family friendly.

One exception is Jim Carrey, mainly because his stuff is not what he says, but the way he says it, and his physical humour.

Well, the one saving grace seems to be that this one is rated R, so it may be more raunchy and in tone with his humor. Fox Searchlight always seems to want to take the "indie" route with their movies. I pray there are nude scenes of either of the two females. I really will pray about that. :o

A movie about marriage that just might be funny.

But I'm single with no intention of getting married, so it's not for me

I doubt it's a serious treatise on the joys of marriage. ;)

I agree with all of that.

all because you don't get laid doesn't mean you have no intention of getting married

anyway

Kerry Washington=

I would like to see Rock do more Dogma like roles

^Oh good lord.

And I'm not really feeling this movie. I think DVD.

Is that Rock from his crackhead role in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka?

Look at the bright side. It is a phsyical impossibility for this to not be better than Head of State.

Dude, I haven't wanted to get married since 1982. I was 4 years old at the time

its written by Louis CK, which is the only reason why i'll go see it.

This movie looks entertaining, purely because of Chris Rock and Steve Buscemi. However, other than that, I'm not sure if it's the kind of movie I want to see. Why would I want to go see a movie that will make me question the very foundation upon which our society is built (ie the family)?

I mean, if the picture-perfect marriage presented to us between Chris and Geena isn't satisfying for either one, then WHY are they in it?

I suppose that if the movie is worth its salt it will answer that question, but if it doesn't, I'll be left in the middle of a profound existential crisis.

Dude? Why are you instantly attacking him because he simply said he doesn't want to marry. It only makes you sound jealous.

Anyway..

Whoever said Rock is funny in stand-up and not so much in the movies was right. He's probably one of the funniest stand comics ever, but it doesn't translate as well in movies...But that poster is funny. Particularly the reference to the Alien tag line.
