MCTC, up in the twin cities to be exact. They're a community college, but they have a really nice, hands on film department. I'm exstatic right now. I'm one step closer to the dream of being that guy standing on the side of the road in LA saying "I'm gonna wash your windows" and using his totally useless film degree to sop up excess water :D:D:D:joker::joker::joker:

It is indeed awesome...I'm gonna be the next Uwe Boll ;)

They love to hear fanboy whining as much as me. I could make better movies, but as a sadist, I want to make people suffer ;)

C0NN3R KENT said you were cool. :cwink:

Awww well done, mate

I'm very happy for you :)

Congrats. I am happy for you as well.

I'll keep my eye out for that one :D

Congrats, man. I know this meant a lot to ya, and I'm glad you got it

There is nothing greater than learning about film, IMO. By far one of the most interesting subjects in existence.

Learn as much as you can, and then quite simply go out and make films. It's the only way to get noticed.

Good luck, Joker.

Me an my friend/writing partner already have our first movie planned. We plan on doing it in our free time, while in school, as we'll have use of all the equipment there...It's a low budget horror movie based off an urban legend about MN (where I live) that I found on a website a while back...I'll make sure I let everyone here know of the progress, once it actually gets going.

You're very lucky to have a friend who is equally as passionate and, presumably, talented as yourself helping you co-write the film. I've been making films for around two-years, and one thing I've learned is you need a co-writer to make a successful movie.

But really, if you've never made a film before, then you're going to love it. It's great fun -- highly stressful, but that's the name of the game. Put the work in now, and reap the rewards later.

He's actually a much better writer than me. I have ideas, plots, and such. And a vauge idea of how each character should act. But I'm TERRIBLE at dialouge. He's much better with that kind of thing. I think more visually, which is why I'm getting into directing.

Good luck man! Wish you all the best and hopefully you'll make a superhero flick of your own.:woot:

Community colleges usually have wayyy better film courses than the larger Universities....well that's what I've heard from friends who have traveled that road themselves.

When is it do you start your classes?

I'm exactly the same.

As soon as I envision something potentially cool, I just have to put it on-screen.

Sometimes, I visualize the most random scene with no context what-so-ever, and then I start to build the story around that scene.

Of coarse, it never turns out as cool as you imagined it, which can be slightly disheartening.

I start in the fall. I've been taking generals for about a year and a half already though, so I pretty much only have the actual film courses to do.

And on the superhero thing, you'll know I've made it when you see GIANT SIZED Man-Thing: The Motion Picture :o

Could you follow up to that with a "Stilt-Man: Biopic"?:o

I actually have a great idea for a Mavel comics series that's initial run would be about Dr. Bong...it would be called Third String, and have either humorous (as in Dr. Bongs case) or serious (as in later cases) stories about these third string, forgotten citizens of the Marvel universe. Dr. Bongs would be either a one shot, or two issue thing about him getting out of jail, as trying to murder an alien duck isn't technically a crime, so they have to let him out...but at the end, they would keep him there, as he never actually got his degree, and he had been impersonating a medical doctor for years.

Now that would be pretty cool to see. I'd watch it.

So, what are your ideas for your first film?

I cant tell you. I really like the idea, and I don't want some studio buzzard sweeping in here and stealing it :cmad:

Oh ok. I completely understand and respect that. Perhaps you could divulge it on Xbox Live soon. I won't tell anyone.:woot:
